  • Publication number: 20170134117
Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device for performing an uplink control channel transmission in a serving cell in a wireless communications network is provided. The wireless device is configured with a set of serving cell(s) in the wireless communications network. First, the wireless device determines a number of serving cells of the set of serving cell(s) that are relevant to consider when performing the uplink control channel transmission in the serving cell. Secondly, the wireless device selects an uplink control channel format from a set of uplink control channel formats for uplink control channel transmissions based on the determined number of serving cells. Then, the wireless device performs the uplink control channel transmission in the serving cell using the selected uplink control channel format. A wireless device for performing an uplink control channel transmission in a serving cell in a wireless communications network is also provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus related to a first radio network node serving a first UE in a first mobile radio network for enabling a D2D communication with a second UE served by a second radio network node in a second radio network. The first radio network node establishes a connection with the second radio network node. The first UE (230) requests to the first radio network node to enable a communication with the second user equipment (290). The first radio network sends a first message comprising information related to the first UE (230) to the second radio network node (280) for configuration of the second UE (290). The first radio network node receives a second message for configuration of the first UE (230) and sends to the first UE (230) a third message related to the second UE.

  • Publication number: 20170013530
Abstract: A method in a base station for handling sector selection is provided. A wireless terminal is connected to a first sector comprised in a combined cell. When a quality of the communication resources in the first sector is below a first threshold, the base station determines that the first sector is no longer the best sector for the wireless terminal. Then the base station sends an order to the wireless terminal to initiate a random access procedure in the combined cell. The base station then selects a second sector in the combined cell based on measurements of signal strength of random access preambles received from the wireless terminal in each respective sector in the combined cell. The random access preambles are received from the wireless terminal in the initiated random access procedure. The second sector is selected for the wireless terminal to communicate in.

  • Publication number: 20160359589
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a method implemented by a wireless communication device (10). The wireless communication device (10) transmits data to a radio node (12) of a wireless communication network (1). The wireless communication device (10) monitors for a positive acknowledgement or a negative acknowledgement of the data from the radio node (12). The wireless communication device (10) retransmits the data to the radio node (12) when said monitoring indicates reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device (10) refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node (12) when said monitoring indicates reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data. The wireless communication device (10) also refrains from retransmitting the data to the radio node (12) when said monitoring indicates neither reception of a positive acknowledgement of the data nor reception of a negative acknowledgement of the data.

  • Publication number: 20160174207
Abstract: A method performed in a network node of a cellular network that also includes a wireless device, the wireless device being in a discontinuous reception mode having receiving periods and idle periods. The method involves transmitting a first control signal to the wireless device during a receiving period for the wireless device; determining that a first control signal is likely to have failed to be correctly received by the wireless device; and determining that a second control signal needs to be transmitted to the wireless device, the second control signal corresponding to the first control signal. When the wireless device is in an idle period, the method further involves postponing any transmission of the second control signal until the wireless device is in a receiving period; and transmitting the second control signal to the wireless device when the wireless device is in the receiving period.

  • Patent number: 9313607
Abstract: Systems and methods for network-assisted device discovery for device-to-device (D2D) communications are disclosed. In one embodiment, a base station in a cellular communications network receives a D2D request from a first wireless device to establish D2D communication. In response to the D2D request, the base station selects a second wireless device for D2D communication with the first wireless device based on the D2D request and information regarding wireless devices that are available for D2D communication. The base station then transmits a D2D request acknowledgment to the first wireless device that includes information that enables the first wireless device to establish D2D communication with the second wireless device. The base station also effects transmission of a D2D reconfiguration message to the second wireless device, where the D2D reconfiguration message includes information that informs the second wireless device that the first wireless device has requested establishment of D2D communication.

  • Patent number: 9204334
Abstract: A method in a base station for adapting prioritization of a service of a user equipment over services of other user equipments is provided. The prioritization relates to a transmission between the base station and the user equipment at a scheduling occasion. The prioritization relates to an initial value. The base station decides (302) that the user equipment is in congestion, when an instant scheduling bit rate for the transmission in relation to a bit rate related to the service is below a first threshold. When the user equipment is in congestion, the base station adapts (304) the prioritization by down prioritizing the service of the user equipment in relation to the initial value, until a timer has expired.
