  • Publication number: 20150156619
Abstract: According to a first aspect of embodiments herein, a method in a first network node for handling device discovery of second user equipments in a second network for Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is provided. The network node is comprised in a first network. The first network node obtains information from a second network node within the second network. The information relates to resources for sending device discovery beacon signals in a second network. The first network node sends the obtained information to a first user equipment served by the first network node. The obtained information relates to said resources for sending device discovery beacon signals in the second network. The information enables the first user equipment to discover beacon signals from the second user equipments in the second network and/or to send beacon signals to be discovered by the second user equipments in the second network.

  • Publication number: 20150146528
Abstract: A method in a base station for adapting prioritization of a service of a user equipment over services of other user equipments is provided. The prioritization relates to a transmission between the base station and the user equipment at a scheduling occasion. The prioritization relates to an initial value. The base station decides (302) that the user equipment is in congestion, when an instant scheduling bit rate for the transmission in relation to a bit rate related to the service is below a first threshold.

  • Publication number: 20150139111
Abstract: A method in a first wireless device for adjusting Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio, SINR, target and a transmit rate is provided. The first wireless device is configured to transmit data to a second wireless device over a Device-to-Device, D2D, link. The first wireless device receives a report on a control channel from the second wireless device. The report comprises a measurement of SINR on said control channel and/or a data channel transmitted by the first device. The first wireless device adjusts a transmit power for the control channel and/or the data channel based on the reported measurement of the SINR on said control channel and/or data channel transmitted by the first device. The first wireless device then adjusts a SINR target and a transmit rate based on the adjusted transmit power. The SINR target and transmit rate are to be used when transmitting on the data channel over the D2D link to the second wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20150117196
Abstract: A method in a base station for adapting link adaptation of a transmission between a user equipment and the base station is provided. The link adaptation relates to an initial value of a Block Error Rate, BLER, related to the transmission. The base station decides that the user equipment is in congestion responsive to a scheduling bit rate for the transmission in relation to a rate of data packets arriving to or being sent by the user equipment being below a first threshold. Responsive to the user equipment being in congestion, the base station adapts the link adaptation by increasing the value of the BLER of the link adaptation in relation to the initial value, until the user equipment is out of congestion or until the base station detects that any one of the user equipment and the base station tries to send high priority data.

  • Publication number: 20150030004
Abstract: The present disclosure concerns radio communication. In one of its aspects, the technology presented herein concerns a method for selecting the most suitable secondary carrier for carrier aggregation when employing a combined radio cell including multiple radio sectors A—1, A—2, A—3 of a first Cell (Cell A) and multiple radio sectors B_x, B_y, B_z of a second cell (Cell B).

  • Publication number: 20140204847
Abstract: Systems and methods related to Device-to-Device (D2D) communication in a cellular communications network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a base station obtains D2D capability information for wireless devices, where the D2D capability information indicates that the wireless devices are physically capable of D2D communication. The base station also receives a D2D request from a first wireless device and, in response, determines that a D2D initialization procedure is to be performed. In response to determining that the D2D initialization is to be performed, the base station transmits a positive D2D decision to the first wireless device that includes information that enables the first wireless device to establish D2D communication with a second wireless device, where the second wireless device is one of the wireless devices that are physically capable of D2D communication.

  • Publication number: 20140206322
Abstract: Systems and methods for network-assisted device discovery for device-to-device (D2D) communications are disclosed. In one embodiment, a base station in a cellular communications network receives a D2D request from a first wireless device to establish D2D communication. In response to the D2D request, the base station selects a second wireless device for D2D communication with the first wireless device based on the D2D request and information regarding wireless devices that are available for D2D communication. The base station then transmits a D2D request acknowledgment to the first wireless device that includes information that enables the first wireless device to establish D2D communication with the second wireless device. The base station also effects transmission of a D2D reconfiguration message to the second wireless device, where the D2D reconfiguration message includes information that informs the second wireless device that the first wireless device has requested establishment of D2D communication.
