  • Patent number: 8065059
Abstract: A device for the semiautonomous support of a parking process of a vehicle, such as a motor vehicle, having a steering device for the steering movement of wheels of the vehicle, having a control device for controlling the steering device, the control device having a computing device for processing input values to form an output value that controls the steering device; the computing device being developed for processing a steering angle, that is maximally achievable at the wheels of the vehicle, together with a steering wheel angle, that is maximally achievable in response to the respective conditions, to form an output value that is designated as a steering wheel angle.

  • Patent number: 7971475
Abstract: A method for diagnosing an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle having at least one sensor unit, including at least one sound receiver, the sound receiver converting sound waves into an electrical signal. Sound waves of the internal combustion engine are recorded using the sound receiver of the sensor unit and converted into an electrical signal, and the electrical signal is used for the diagnosis of the operating state of the internal combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20110128140
Abstract: In an automated method for providing an indication, with the aid of a turn signal indicator, that a vehicle is leaving a parking space, a vehicle control system detects initially whether an executed driving maneuver is a maneuver related to leaving a parking space, in which case the maneuvering out of a parking space is indicated by activating the turn signal indicator, and the turn signal indicator is kept activated until the process of maneuvering out of the parking space has been concluded.

  • Patent number: 7786896
Abstract: A parking assistance system for outputting parking instructions to the driver of a vehicle has a sensor device which is designed for performing a parking space measurement on the basis of parking space limits and generating parking space information on the basis of the parking space measurement; a program-controlled device which calculates the driving trajectory to be traveled on the basis of the parking space information generated and calculates a time to collision and/or a distance to collision, within which the vehicle will presumably collide with one of the parking space limits, from the parking space information generated and the calculated driving trajectory; and a warning signal transducer which generates a warning signal if the calculated period of time is less than a first limit value and/or the calculated distance to collision is less than a second limit value.

  • Publication number: 20090230758
Abstract: The present invention provides a bicycle wheel hub that generally includes an axle, an input sprocket, an output shell, a one-way clutch and a locking mechanism. The one-way clutch operatively connects the input sprocket and the output shell and is configured to drive the output shell in a first direction. The locking mechanism is configured to operatively connect the output shell and the input sprocket to drive the output shell in a second direction to operate the bicycle wheel hub in a fixed drive mode. The locking mechanism is configured to operatively disconnect the output shell and the input sprocket to operate the bicycle wheel hub in a freewheel drive mode.

  • Publication number: 20090071227
Abstract: A method and control for determining the tire diameters of a motor vehicle by comparing at least two opposite wheels. To provide the lowest possible measuring effort while simultaneously ensuring the highest possible precision, a driving maneuver including at least one cornering operation is defined as calibration drive, and the change in the vehicle orientation in the calibration drive is determined. The control includes sensors to determine the change in the vehicle orientation in a calibration drive.

  • Patent number: 7268675
Abstract: To protect vehicle occupants in dangerous situations, the distance of the vehicle to a roadside object, such as a guardrail, etc., is determined and compared to a critical distance. If the actual distance is less than the critical distance, alarm devices are triggered and/or reversible restraining devices are deployed. The critical distance may be determined as a function of the host vehicle velocity.

  • Publication number: 20070154669
Abstract: A substantially rigid, fiber reinforced polymer composite article that includes a preprinted veil layer covered with a substantially transparent capstock that is designed to be used for implement handles, such as shovels and rakes or can be used for decking and fencing material. The fiber reinforced polymer composite article is formed of by using pre-impregnated fiberglass rovings or fibers encapsulated in a thermoplastic capstock that are pultruded through one or more dies and coated with a veil material. The veil material includes a pattern that, when applied to the fibrous layer can create the appearance of wood or simulate other materials. The veil layer is then coated with a transparent or substantially transparent capstock by means of extrusion to produce the fiber reinforced polymer composite article.
