Abstract: Systems and methods for decommission of a multifunction peripheral are disclosed. The method comprises receiving user interaction with the multifunction peripheral initiating a decommission operation for the multifunction peripheral, requesting user input of authentication credentials suitable to enable the decommission operation, and accepting user input of authentication credentials. The method further includes transmitting the authentication credentials, along with a request to enable the decommission operation for the multifunction peripheral to an authentication server for authentication, receiving confirmation that the authentication credentials are sufficient to enable decommission of the multifunction peripheral along with decommission instructions to be executed by the multifunction peripheral, and executing the decommission instructions so as to complete the decommission operation for the multifunction peripheral.

Abstract: A system and method for populating fax recipient information on multifunction peripherals includes a touchscreen and a processor configured to generate user interface screens and receive user input from the touchscreen. The processor monitors the touchscreen for user entry of fax recipient information. The processor determines when there is a match between user entered information and contact information from an address book. When there is a match, the processor populates additional fax recipient information using the contact information. When there is no match of an entered fax number with a contact, the processor enters the fax number as the name of fax recipient. The processor monitors the touchscreen for user input that overwrites the processor populated fax recipient information, or a user command to add a fax recipient to a fax recipient list. The processor faxes a document to each fax recipient on the fax recipient list.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system for providing error assistance for a device is disclosed. The error assistance is provided to an optical head-mounted display (OHMD) of a user. The system includes a server configured to receive an input, including one or more identifiers for the device, from the OHMD of the user or a mobile device of the user. The identifiers may include at least one of a serial number of the device, an identifier scanned from a tag of the device, and an error code identifying the device error. The server identifies the device and device error based on the identifiers. The server determines instructions for fixing the device error and generates an augmented display to provide on the OHMD of the user. The augmented display includes an image, icon, text, audio, or video, representative of a part of the device or an instruction for repairing the device.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a system for providing error assistance for a device is disclosed. The error assistance is provided to an optical head-mounted display (OHMD) of a user. The system includes a server configured to receive an input, including one or more identifiers for the device, from the OHMD of the user or a mobile device of the user. The identifiers may include at least one of a serial number of the device, an identifier scanned from a tag of the device, and an error code identifying the device error. The server identifies the device and device error based on the identifiers. Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic selection of mobile device default action are disclosed. The method comprises presenting a default action and a list of alternative actions that identify document processing operations that may be completed by a multifunction peripheral to thereby generate an electronic document, the default action automatically selected and the list of alternative actions available for selection and receiving user interaction, on the mobile device, with the list of alternative actions thereby selecting a selected alternative action. The method further includes storing the selected alternative action as a new default action, sending instructions to the multifunction peripheral to begin a document processing operation identified by the selected alternative action, and presenting, on the mobile device, the new default action and a second list of alternative actions available for selection, the second list of alternative actions including the default action and excluding the new default action.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for accessing a scanner from a mobile device. A document processing device may include a scanner to perform a scan function on a physical document to generate an electronic document and a controller. The controller may receive a request for a scan session from a first user via a first mobile device and determine, upon receipt of the request, whether or not the scanner is available for use by the first user. Upon a determination that the scanner is available for use by the first user, the controller may establish a locked scan session for the first user. During the duration of the locked scan session, the controller may accept an instruction from the first mobile device to perform a scan and may not accept an instruction to perform a scan from any device other than the first mobile device.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing access to a service cloud are disclosed. Login information for a user may be received from a mobile device via a network. A unique identifier may be extracted from a digital image of the unique identifier captured by the mobile device. A user interface may be provided based on the unique identifier and user permissions associated with the user.

The method also includes altering the visual representation in response to release data such that the first page and the second page are presented in an altered order in the electronic document.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method and apparatus for a user interface for page view zooming. The method comprises generating a default user interface including an electronic document. The method further includes receiving touchdown and hold data indicating that a user has interacted with a portion of the electronic document and beginning a continuous zoom process for that portion of the electronic document. The method further includes halting the zoom process once a user has released the touch over the portion of the electronic document and displaying the magnified document on the user interface. The method employs a similar operation to enable a de-zooming operation.

The method includes displaying a button to a user, the button including a primary function area incorporating a primary function available for immediate selection and a secondary function area incorporating a drop-down menu of at least one secondary function. The method further includes accepting a selection of a secondary function and executing the secondary function. The method also includes updating the button such that the secondary function is associated with the primary function area and the primary function is associated with the secondary function area and displaying the updated split mode command button to a user.
