  • Publication number: 20060087135
Abstract: Removable handles for use with a cooking utensil. In the preferred embodiment of the present inventions, the cooking utensil is a griddle which is intended for use on a grill to provide for the frying of foods. The removable handles are easily put into or out of engagement with a griddle, and have downwardly extending legs which elevate and support the griddle when placed on a flat surface. It is intended that the handles be removed from the griddle during the period of time that the griddle is used for cooking, such that the handles and leg supports always remain cook. Thus, when the food is cooked, the griddle can be removed from the grill using the handles without the use of oven mitts. Furthermore, the griddle can be set on a flat surface for use as a serving platter. Because the legs will elevate the griddle, it is not necessary to use trivets to prevent heat damage to the surface.

  • Publication number: 20040096444
Abstract: An isolated antibody that binds to a plasminogen kringle 5 receptor, i.e., the human voltage-dependent anion channel, preferably at an epitope between amino acids Tyr224 through Lys255 thereof, is described, along with methods of use thereof. Peptides or immunogens that stimulate the production of such antibodies, along with methods of use thereof, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6694967
Abstract: The present invention provides a support apparatus for a fuel tank used in connection with a gas barbecue grill assembly. The support apparatus is connected to a portion of the frame assembly of the grill assembly. The support apparatus comprises a housing member with a bracket adapted to engage a portion of the fuel tank and a releasable member operably connected to the housing member. At least one pivot axis member operably connects the support apparatus to a portion of the frame assembly. The support apparatus is rotatable about a generally vertical axis between a first position wherein the fuel tank is substantially within the frame assembly and stored for use, and a second position wherein the fuel tank is substantially beyond the frame assembly and accessible for removal and replacement. The releasable member is adapted to secure the support apparatus in either the first position or the second position.

  • Publication number: 20030138429
Abstract: Compounds, compositions and methods for inhibiting metastasis, and screening methods for identifying compounds are disclosed. The compounds bind to CD26 and/or plasminogen, and when so bound, inhibit the Ca+2 signaling cascade that results in the formation of MMP-9. When the compounds directly bind to CD26 in a manner that inhibits the signaling cascade, they inhibit metastasis. When the compounds enhance the ability of angiostatin to bind to CD26 and inhibit the signaling cascade, they are angiostatin allosteric promoters. The compounds can also bind to CD26 in a manner which inhibits the binding of ADA to CD26/DPP IV, and such compounds used in methods for inhibiting deamination of adenosine. The compounds can be, for example, antibodies, antibody fragments, enzymes, peptides, nucleic acids such as oligonucleotides, or small molecules. The antibodies can be monoclonal, humanized, or polyclonal antibodies.

  • Patent number: 4737181
Abstract: In a pressing machine for the manufacture of glass articles, which comprises, a base; a gyratory table composed of mold supporters equidistantly laid out around the table, thereby carrying the molds from one station to the next as the table gyrates intermittently, said table comprising a number of stations, among which are stations of charging, stations for pressing and cooling articles, extracting stations and stations for the cooling of the molds, wherein such stations includes a series of mechanisms; means to drive the rotating table coupled to said table to rotate the same; and a feeder in combination with said machine which provide a gob of glass to the station of charging by each cycle of the machine, a method and an apparatus is provided to controlling the cycle of operation of the machine and the operation of the diverse mechanisms including: a sensor to determine the instant in which a gob of glass is cut from said feeder and position sensors to detecting the real position of the diverse mechanisms o
