    Abstract: The present invention describes a means for fixing skin care ingredients on the surface of non-woven webs and cellulosic mats. The active ingredients can be released (deposited) onto the skin by normal triggering mechanisms, which include the action of water or urine or by friction or rubbing. The fixative systems described herein provide the ability to control high load levels while not interfering with the wettabliity of the fabric or paper. Additionally, incompatible/reactive ingredients can be treated onto the same web and are kept as separate particles fixed to the surface until released.

    Abstract: An air particle sample cassette enables concurrent or sequential collection of air particle samples. The dual air particle sample cassette has top and bottom covers that fit together to provide an airtight seal between them. The airtight seal may be provided by adhesive or otherwise. However, a close fit between the two also aids in obtaining an airtight seal. The top cover has tapering inlets circumscribed by channels. The inlets taper to create increased air speed at the exit slit of the inlets. The inlets have rounded tops for greater collection of air and the circumscribing channels provide means by which plastic caps or otherwise may be used to protect the inlets from collecting air until desired. The sample plate or collecting slide is fitted to the bottom of the top cover and obstructs the direct flow of air to the exit port. The collecting slide is protected from contact with other cassette elements by spacers or sidewalls which generally leave the corners of the bottom cover open.

    Abstract: An implantable marking device is provided which is designed to percutaneously deliver permanent markers to desired tissue locations within a patient's body, even if the desired locations are laterally disposed relative to the distal end of the delivery device, as is the case for conduit or cavity walls. This provides several advantages to the physician in diagnosis and management of tissue abnormalities, such as a means of localization of a tissue abnormality for follow-up surgical treatment, and a means of tissue abnormality site identification for purposes of ongoing diagnostic follow-up. In one preferred construction, a radiographic clip is configured in the form of a surgical staple. A disposable tissue marker applier, which comprises a flexible tube, pull wire, and squeeze handle, is employed to advance and deploy the clip to a desired tissue location. Either a flexible or a rigid introducer is also provided for providing access to the site to be marked.

    Abstract: This invention provides an inventive tissue sampling probe which offers many advantages over probes available in the prior art. Unexpectedly superior results are obtained in connection with the retrieval of intact tissue specimens, because of a unique combination of cutting features, including, for example, the employment of an electrosurgical cutting element and a vacuum assist in one preferred embodiment. A particularly important feature of the invention is the ability to manipulate the electrosurgical cutting element to cleanly sever the distal end of the tissue specimen. In certain embodiments, this is accomplished without any cutting impact on surrounding tissue. The versatility of the invention permits its use in many applications, including, for example, breast biopsies, laparoscopic surgery, and lymphadenectomy procedures.

    Abstract: A container for a plurality of molecular sieve beds for use in a pressure swing oxygen concentrator. An extrusion defines at least two and preferably at least three passages extending between open ends of the extrusion. The extrusion ends are closed by first and second end caps secured to the extrusion. Two of the passages form separate molecular sieve containers and a third passage may form an accumulator for storing concentrated oxygen. In a preferred embodiment, the first end cap has separate inlet ports for each molecular sieve container and an outlet port for the accumulator. The second end cap has separate outlet ports for each molecular sieve container and an inlet port for the accumulator.

The constrained fit method adjusts the accelerometer and the magnetometer tri-axis measurements to optimize agreement between the measured data and the a priori magnetic and gravity field strengths and the magnetic dip angle.     Abstract: An apparatus is described for moving a probe (12) that engages moving living tissue such as a heart or an artery that is penetrated by the probe, which moves the probe in synchronism with the tissue to maintain the probe at a constant location with respect to the tissue. The apparatus includes a servo positioner (18) which moves a servo member (20) to maintain a constant distance from a sensed object (30) while applying very little force to the sensed object, and a follower (26) having a stirrup (28) at one end resting on a surface of the living tissue and another end carrying a sensed object (30) adjacent to the servo member. A probe holder (34) has one end mounted on the servo member (20) and another end which holds the probe (12). The probe is held adjacent to the stirrup (28) of the follower assembly, so that movements of the tissue and therefore of the follower assembly (26) result in corresponding movement of the probe (12) to follow the surface of the tissue.
