Patent number: 12097653Abstract: A method of manufacturing a length of lined pipe inserts a radially contracted liner pipe into an outer host pipe. Injector needles are inserted through an end of the outer pipe into an annular gap between the pipes. Adhesive is injected between the pipes at locations inboard of the end of the outer pipe. After withdrawing the injectors, at least a portion of the liner pipe is expanded to close the gap and to bond the pipes together via the injected adhesive. Shims can be inserted into the gap between the pipes. A portion of the liner pipe inboard of the shims can be expanded radially while the shims constrain local radial expansion of an outboard portion of the liner pipe to maintain the gap for accommodating the injectors. Withdrawing the shims after injecting the adhesive allows radial expansion of the outboard portion to close the gap between the pipes.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2020Date of Patent: September 24, 2024Assignee: SUBSEA 7 LIMITEDInventors: Mark Robert Smithson, Graham Wood

Publication number: 20240314093Abstract: An electronic message computing system tracks new activity items that reflect activities that have not yet been seen by the user. A. generative artificial intelligence (AI) model generates a digest summary that is provided to the user the next time the user accesses the electronic message system. The digest summary summarizes new activity. The generative AI model also generates importance summaries that summarize the importance of a particular activity to the user, and content summaries that summarize the content of an activity item (such as an electronic mail message). The electronic messaging system also assigns a priority to each new activity item and provides the summaries, along with a priority, to a client computing system. The client computing system conducts a user experience, navigating the user through the new activity items, based upon the priority assigned by the electronic message computing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Inventors: Kuleen Haresh MEHTA, Anton Oguzhan A. Publication number: 20240299650Abstract: A fluid delivery device has a syringe barrel-type reservoir with plunger, and plunger driver assembly comprising double-acting, telescoping lead screws that is located behind and outside of the barrel. Simultaneously and counter-rotating sleeve screw and center screw telescope out of a nested configuration of the plunger driver assembly and into the reservoir at a rate of double their individual and equal pitch and lead parameters when the sleeve screw is rotated. A threaded nut and gear anchor disposed on an end of the barrel receive the sleeve screw and the threaded nut causes the sleeve screw to translate and rotate in response to motor operation. A distal end of the center screw can be keyed to a plunger pusher for anti-rotation constraint when the motor is imparting rotation on the threaded nut and sleeve screw.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2024Publication date: September 12, 2024Applicant: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Alessandro PIZZOCHERO, Mark WOOD, Muzaffer Yalgin OZSECEN, Timothy BLUM, Eric HASSENPFLUG, Cory BAKER, Jeffrey HELD

Publication number: 20240296730Abstract: A method and system for collecting context information in response to prediction of an emergency event. A cloud-based computing system could determine that an emergency event is predicted to impact a customer premises at an upcoming time. Responsive to that determination, and before the upcoming time, the cloud-based computing system could then cause or more on-premises computing devices at the customer premises to collect and report context information, such as a count of people present at the customer premises and/or an operational state of one or more utilities or other systems at the customer premises, that may assist in responding to the emergency event. Further, the cloud-based computing system could select a given such device at the customer premises to function as a coordinating device to work with one or more other devices at the customer premises to collect and report the context information.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2024Publication date: September 5, 2024Inventors: Sunil Ramesh, Charles Brian Pinkerton, Mark Robins, Anthony Wood

Publication number: 20240285865Abstract: A fluid delivery device has a syringe barrel-type reservoir with plunger and plunger driver assembly comprising a spiral zipper-driven pump mechanism. A flexible band in the spiral zipper-driven pump mechanism is transformed from a collapsed, nested configuration to an extended configuration by controllably unfurling and recoiling the band into a spiral column of interlocking revolutions of the band. The column has sufficient stiffness to impart translational motion to a plunger along a longitudinal reservoir axis that is precisely controllable by rotation of gears by a motor. The collapsed, non-extended configuration of the spiral zipper-driven pump mechanism reduces reservoir and fluid delivery device length.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2022Publication date: August 29, 2024Applicant: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Dana COTE, Mark WOOD

Publication number: 20240183641Abstract: A floating barrier system has a plurality of connected floating barrier units. Capture net segments are positioned on the floating barrier units by support post members, forming a barrier to vessel passage. Lanyards attach the ends of the capture net segments to the floating barrier units. Upon a vessel striking the capture net segments with sufficient force, the capture nets detach from the support post members and/or pull the support post members over, and the forces from the vessel are transferred via the lanyards to the floating barrier unit. The vessel is prevented from fully passing over the floating barrier unit, thus itself forming a barrier to passage by other vessels.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2022Publication date: June 6, 2024Inventors: Erick Knezek, Matthew Marcy, David Delleart, Mark Wood, William Newton Seelig, Eric Jacobs

Publication number: 20240110551Abstract: A hard seal, positive displacement pump is provided which may be included within a fluid delivery system. The pump includes a housing, a sleeve disposed radially within the housing, and a piston disposed radially within the sleeve. An outer shape of a first end of the sleeve contacts a correspondingly-shaped inner shape of a first end of the housing, thereby sealing the first end of the sleeve within the first end of the housing. The piston is radially and axially moveable within the sleeve, and an axially-reciprocating motion of the piston within the sleeve opens and closes a pump chamber defined between a first end of the piston and a first end of the sleeve.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2022Publication date: April 4, 2024Applicant: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Alessandro E. Publication number: 20240066216Abstract: A fluid delivery device has a syringe barrel with reservoir chamber for fluid, a plunger that translates along a longitudinal axis to expel fluid, and a pusher dimensioned to translate within the barrel and coupled to a drive mechanism to controllably contact and move the plunger. The pusher contacts the plunger at its mechanical center to reduce tilt in the plunger. Contact faces of the pusher and plunger cooperate as a ball joint to minimize non-axial forces on the plunger face. The pusher can have a protrusion of various lengths extending toward and being at least partially received in a recess of various depths in the plunger. The pusher is rigidly connected to a drive mechanism for anti-rotation. The pusher can have scalloped edges for air venting, and apertures for cooperating with protrusions on the drive mechanism to prevent bottoming out the plunger when filling.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2021Publication date: February 29, 2024Applicant: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Alessandro PIZZOCHERO, Mark WOOD, Nicholas ANDERSON
