  • Patent number: 10246959
Abstract: A downhole tool control apparatus includes a control assembly, a stroking assembly, and a pocket sleeve positioned in an outer sub. The control assembly and stroking assembly are independently slidable axially within the outer sub. The control assembly and stroking assembly slide depending on the flow rate of fluid through the downhole tool actuator. The stroking assembly includes a spline barrel having a spline projection positioned within a spline pocket formed in the pocket sleeve. The pocket sleeve and control assembly include one or more ratchet teeth positioned in the pocket sleeve such that as the flow rate is changed between a high and a low flow rate, the spline projection engages the ratchet teeth until an actuated cycle is completed, allowing the downhole tool actuator to move to an actuation position.

  • Patent number: 10239609
Abstract: A system and method for measuring, or otherwise determining pitch length adjustments to a pitch link coupled to a rotor blade in a rotorcraft includes vertical track adjustment indicators machined onto an exterior of the tube of the pitch link and a vertical reference indicator machined onto an exterior of the upper or the lower rod of the pitch link. A metric of a pitch length adjustment can be determined by tracking or counting how many track adjustment indicators pass the reference indicator while the tube of the pitch link is being turned in either direction for increasing or decreasing the pitch length. The track adjustment indicators can be relied upon to track one or a series of adjustments for tracking a rotor blade installed in a rotor assembly.

  • Patent number: 10238443
Abstract: A device is disclosed for reducing a vertebral compression fracture, comprising a superior end plate and an inferior end plate disposed along a vertical axis. The superior end plate and the inferior end plate are slidably separable in a vertical direction along the vertical axis. An interior chamber is provided in fluid communication with a port extending from an exterior to the interior chamber. The device is deployable within a vertebral body and expandable within the vertebral body by injecting a flowable material into the interior chamber thereby displacing the superior and inferior end plates along the vertical axis.

Abstract: A rotation locking device for use in a row-level sun tracking solar energy collection system includes a housing, a first locking member, a second locking member, and an actuator. The housing is configured to be mounted to a pile and configured to permit a torque tube to extend through the housing. The first locking member has a plurality of circumferentially spaced projections attached to and rotatable with the torque tube. The second locking member is connected to the housing and has a plurality of mating elements for engaging projections of the first locking member. The actuator is configured to relatively move the first and second locking members between an unlocked position in which the mating elements are disengaged from the projections and a locked position in which the mating elements are engaged with the projections to inhibit rotation of the torque tube with respect to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20180361185
Abstract: It has been discovered that low molecular weight poly(ethyleneglycol) (PEG) can be used in place of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DGME) in fire foam concentrates without compromising the desirable properties provided by DGME. Surprisingly it has been found that lower molecular weight PEG with a weight average molecular weight Mw of 400 or less provides comparable performance to DGME with considerably lower toxicity. Use of this PEG permits preparation of fire foam concentrates that exclude DGME completely and that are less toxic than conventional DGME-containing concentrates.

  • Publication number: 20180339773
Abstract: A rotor assembly for an aircraft is operable to generate a variable thrust vector. The rotor assembly includes a mast that is rotatable about a mast axis. A ball joint is positioned about and non rotatable with the mast. A tilt control assembly is positioned on and has a tilting degree of freedom relative to the ball joint. The tilt control assembly is non rotatable with the mast. A rotor hub is rotatably coupled to the tilt control assembly. The rotor hub is rotatable with the mast in a rotational plane and tiltable with the tilt control assembly. The rotor hub includes a plurality of grips each coupled to a rotor blade. Actuation of the tilt control assembly changes the rotational plane of the rotor hub relative to the mast axis, thereby generating the variable thrust vector.

  • Publication number: 20180327089
Abstract: A system and method for attaching a damper to a tail rotor blade includes a cuff that is integral with the rotor blade. The cuff has upper and lower lugs formed by extending a skin over a blade core of the rotor blade. The skin extends past the blade core to the root end of the rotor blade. The rod end of the damper is inserted into an opening between the lugs. The rod end of the damper is coupled to the blade with a bolt through aligned holes in the lugs. The cuff also couples the rotor blade to the grip inside the cuff. The cuff includes a same material as that forming the skin. Sacrificial buffer pads are applied to interior faces of the lugs. The buffer pads permit a distance between the lugs to be machined within a tolerance without removing skin from the cuff.

  • Publication number: 20180309782
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed wherein a risk score is generated by interrogating multiple sources of information across a network. The information is aggregated, such that every network action for individuals and organizations are turned into a unique behavioral model, which can be used as a unique identifier (“fingerprint”).
