    Abstract: Distributed radio frequency (RF) communication systems for automotive are disclosed herein. In certain embodiments, an RF communication system for an automobile includes an RF module located close to an antenna to satisfy a specified output power with small insertion loss. Additionally, the baseband processor is placed remotely from the RF module in a different area of the automobile to provide a lower temperature environment. Additionally, the RF module communicates with the baseband processor in a digital format eliminating the need for higher cost cabling (for instance, due to higher noise immunity arising from using digital signaling) and using digital transfer cabling, which can already be present in the automobile for other purposes. The RF module can include an RF front-end (RFFE) and a transceiver used for providing frequency conversion, for instance, between RF and baseband.

    Abstract: A method of terminating an optical fiber having an inner core with a fiber optic connector including a ferrule having a micro-bore and an end face with a mating location is disclosed. The method includes determining a bore bearing angle of a bore offset of the micro-bore in the ferrule; determining a core bearing angle of a core offset of the inner core in the optical fiber; orienting the ferrule and the optical fiber relative to each other to minimize the distance between the inner core and the mating location; heating the ferrule to an processing temperature above room temperature; and coupling the optical fiber to the micro-bore of the ferrule. The size of the micro-bores and optical fibers may be selected to maximize the number of interference fits in a population of ferrules and optical fibers while minimizing failed fittings between the ferrules and optical fibers in the populations.

    Abstract: In various examples, a technique for securely transmitting CAN (Controller Area Network) messages is disclosed that includes receiving, using a cryptographic engine, a message from an application to be transmitted over a CAN (Controller Area Network) bus, wherein the cryptographic engine executes a secure firmware and is implemented on an on-die discrete processor. The technique further includes accessing, using the secure firmware, a key from a plurality of keys associated with an authentication process from a secure memory associated with the cryptographic engine. Additionally, the technique includes computing an authentication tag using the key and the message and transmitting the message with the authentication tag over the CAN bus to a destination address.

    Abstract: Techniques to improve the immunity of wireless battery systems by transmitting heavily-coded signals, e.g., using multiple chips of a sequence for each bit of information, to trade data rate for interference or jamming immunity as a response once a noisy environment is identified. The techniques provide the system with a noise immunity operating mode (or high-immunity transmit and receive mode) that can improve resilience to interference or jamming by reducing the data rate. One option for reducing the data rate is by slowing down the transmission bit rate to reduce the occupied transmit bandwidth to minimize the probability of collisions with interfering signals. Another option is though digital coding methods using Forward Error Correction such as Convolutional Coding, Reed-Solomon Coding and Turbo coding. A third option is with RF spread spectrum techniques such as Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) or Frequency Hopped Spread Spectrum (FHSS).

The woven layer may be provided with valleys and ridges that the nascent web is molded into, while the nonwoven layer may be provided with elements that impart a visually aesthetic pattern to the web. In this manner the belt may be useful in the production of products having desirable physical properties resulting from molding into the woven fabric while also being visually pleasing to the user.

The diffusing element may be moveable and may be capable of repeating the same positions or set of positions for each beam of light emitted by the set of light sources. By combining the coherent noise mitigation techniques of the moveable diffusing element and the de-cohered light, the photonics system may provide an illumination profile with a specific spatial profile and angular profile on the sample that allows reliable measurement of the sample and coherent noise mitigation.
