  • Patent number: 10503238
Abstract: Each processor core in a computing device supports various different frequency ranges, also referred to as p-states, and can operate to run threads at any one of those different frequency ranges. Threads in the computing device are assigned one of multiple importance levels. A processor core is configured to run at a particular frequency range or in accordance with a particular energy performance preference based on the importance level of the thread it is running. A utilization factor of a processor core can also be determined over some time duration, the utilization factor being based on the amount of time during the time duration that the processor core was running a thread(s), and also based on the importance levels of the thread(s) run during the time duration. The utilization factor can then be used to determine whether to park the processor core.

  • Publication number: 20190369203
Abstract: A bicycle-sharing system includes bicycles having beacons mounted thereto. Sensors are distributed throughout an urban environment and detect the beacons. Stations report check-in and check-out of the bicycles. Using reported detections of the bicycles and the check-in and check-out locations, a trajectory of the bicycle is determined. Where multiple sensors detect the beacon at a time, triangulation may be performed to more accurately determine the bicycle location. Trajectories of bicycles may be used for planning purposes or to track stolen or mislaid bicycles.

  • Publication number: 20190364043
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for a multi-factor authentication of a user via a vehicle recognition of the user. In this way, the invention may identify a user co-located to a vehicle and authenticate that user via communicable linkages between a user device and automobile system. The invention may authenticate the user via the communicable linkage, vehicle biometrics, user vehicle preferences, and/or third party authentication. Based on a number of authentication points identified, the system may identify a level of authentication for accessing authentication locations. The system may then allow user access to various locations from his/her vehicle without requiring authentication into those locations.

The disclosed technology includes receiving vehicle data and external data from a vehicle. The vehicle data includes a vehicle location and a vehicle destination, and the external data includes a location and a movement path for each of a plurality of external objects. A solution path is determined between the vehicle location and the vehicle destination, wherein the solution path does not intersect with the plurality of external objects. A solution path overlay interface is generated that includes the vehicle traveling the solution path and at least some of the plurality of external objects. The solution path overlay interface is outputted for display that is configured to receive a command from an operator which results in an updated solution path that is transmitted to the vehicle for execution.

  • Publication number: 20190311621
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and non-transitory computer readable storage media for generating risk indicators are described. The disclosed technology includes determining a vehicle route of a vehicle and external object routes of external objects. The vehicle route is determined using vehicle route data including a vehicle location and a vehicle destination. The external object routes are determined using external object route data including external object locations and external object destinations. Based on a comparison of the vehicle route data and the external object route data, external object routes that satisfy a proximity criterion are determined. Risk data for the vehicle is generated based on a vehicle state of the vehicle and external object states of the external objects corresponding to the external object routes that satisfy the proximity criterion. In response to determining that the risk data satisfies a risk criterion, at least one risk indicator is generated.

  • Publication number: 20190278298
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing remote support and negotiating problem situations of autonomous operation of vehicles based on signal states and vehicle information are described. The disclosed technology receives state data for the vehicles by an apparatus such as a remote vehicle support apparatus. The state data indicates a respective current state for the vehicles. The vehicles are each assigned to respective remote vehicle support queues based on the respective state data. An indication that one of the vehicles is requesting remote support is received by the remote vehicle support apparatus. In response to a determination that a change in the state data indicates that autonomous operation of the one of the vehicles is operating outside of defined parameter values, the remote support is provided to the one of the vehicles through a communications link by transmitting instruction data to modify the autonomous operation of the one of the vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20190274376
Abstract: This invention provides improved printed heaters for use in articles such as wearable garments and seats. The improvement comprises replacing the single large area resistive material layer with columns of a number of small patches of resistive material or of continuous resistive material, i.e., replacing the single large area heater with a number of smaller individual heaters. A series of conductive strips across the columns render the heater more robust, less sensitive to local resistive area failure. Printing of the resistive material is facilitated since the area of each resistive material patch is greatly reduced. In addition, the embodiments enable the opportunity to provide a breathable heater.

  • Patent number: 10371016
Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a cam-actuated rocker arm assembly with a solenoid-actuated latch that provides for cylinder deactivation or variable valve actuation. The solenoid is in a position where its inductance varies significantly in relation to the position of a latch pin as it translates between latching and non-latching configurations. A sensor is positioned to monitor a current or a voltage in a circuit that includes the solenoid. The sensor data is analyzed to provide diagnostic information relating to the operation of the rocker arm assembly.
