  • Patent number: 10168746
Abstract: Examples disclosed herein provide a hinge mechanism to pivotally connect housings of a computing device along an axis. As an example, the hinge mechanism includes a guide rail fixed to the first housing, a base block fixed to the second housing, and a rotary element to constrain the guide rail to the base block, wherein the guide rail and the base block are concentric along the axis, and the guide rail is to rotate around the base block. As an example, the hinge mechanism includes a rotation assembly comprising a slot on one end to receive a pin of the guide rail in order to link the guide rail to the rotation assembly. As an example, the rotation assembly is to provide a level of resistance to a torque provided when opening or closing the first housing with respect to the second housing.

  • Publication number: 20180376612
Abstract: An electrical equipment cooling rack, has a rack with support rails which extend vertically, a plurality of rackmounted cooling locations or slots, defined within the support rails, each of the cooling locations extending horizontally and stacked one over the other. A first cooled air plenum is on a first side and a second return air plenum on the second side of each of the slots, receiving the air that has passed over the slots. The air is circulated from the return air, across the top, through an air cooler and forced by a fan into the cooled air plenum. An amount of cooling water is controlled, and an amount of fan speed is controlled, based on temperatures, and temperature differentials, and trends in the temperatures.

  • Patent number: 10157133
Abstract: A data processing system, having two or more of processors that access a shared data resource, and method of operation thereof. Data stored in a local cache is marked as being in a ‘UniqueDirty’, ‘SharedDirty’, ‘UniqueClean’, ‘SharedClean’ or ‘Invalid’ state. A snoop filter monitors access by the processors to the shared data resource, and includes snoop filter control logic and a snoop filter cache configured to maintain cache coherency. The snoop filter cache does not identify any local cache that stores the block of data in a ‘SharedDirty’ state, resulting in a smaller snoop filter cache size and simple snoop control logic. The data processing system by be defined by instructions of a Hardware Description Language.

  • Patent number: 10156398
Abstract: A vortex dryer for fibrous material utilizes a helical inlet to the base of a central vortex tube to separate fiber from debris by abruptly changing direction of the conveying air flow. The dryer combines the helical input with helical shaping of the air flow through the central vortex tube to induce greater drying for the fiber which is continued at the top of the vortex tube through a separate drying chamber.

  • Publication number: 20180353716
Abstract: A flow generator for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a processor coupled with operation sensors and a user interface. The processor is programmed to generate at least one of time-based or event-based messages relating to at least one of flow generator operation, flow generator service, flow generator use, patient health, peripheral devices and services, patient treatment, and reminders. Time-based messages are generated at predetermined time intervals based on either time of use or elapsed time. The event-based messages are generated based on signals from the operation sensors. The user interface is configured to deliver the messages to at least one of a display, a flow generator service provider, the patient and a physician. By this system, operation of the flow generator is facilitated and enhanced.

  • Patent number: 10151183
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a plunger lift system in a well can include: opening a control valve and allowing a plunger to rise to a top of the well; determining an actual rise time of the plunger based on a time it takes the plunger to rise to the top of the well; using actual rise time of the plunger and a target rise time calculating adjustments to the afterflow time or close time; and allowing the afterflow time to pass before closing the control valve and keeping the valve closed for the close time. The methods are repeated, each time calculating a new adjusted afterflow time or adjusted close time to incrementally alter these times.

  • Publication number: 20180351832
Abstract: A set of partial tenant objects are created within a hosted service. The set of partial tenant objects have placeholders for tenant identifiers, domain identifiers and user identifiers. Upon receiving a request to provision a tenant, a particular partition of the hosted service, corresponding to the tenant, is identified and a provisioning agent in the identified partition is called to provision the tenant. The provisioning agent selects one of the partial tenant objects which is bound to tenant-specific information, such as a specific tenant identifier, custom domain chosen by the tenant, and a user identifier input by the tenant.

  • Patent number: 10140597
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide apparatuses and methods that help validate and process payment instruments for different products, such as but not limited to credit card payments, mortgage payments, or any other type of payment. The payment amount from a payment instrument may be determined from a multiple locations on the payment instrument. In addition, a payment amount may be determined from a remittance document that accompanies the payment instrument, such as a remittance coupon that is mailed along with a check. The amount in the remittance courtesy box, the minimum amount due, the last payment made, and the full balance remaining may all be captured and used to validate the amount on the payment instrument. Moreover, one or more confidence scores for the amounts on the payment instrument and remittance document may be used to validate the payment amount.

  • Patent number: 10136240
Abstract: Methods a provided for improving an audio scene for people suffering from hearing loss or for adverse hearing environments. Audio objects may be prioritized. In some implementations, audio objects that correspond to dialog may be assigned to a highest priority level. Other implementations may involve assigning the highest priority to other types of audio objects, such as audio objects that correspond to events. During a process of dynamic range compression, higher-priority objects may be boosted more, or cut less, than lower-priority objects. Some lower-priority audio objects may fall below the threshold of human hearing, in which case the audio objects may be dropped and not rendered.
