  • Patent number: 9978849
Abstract: Methods form transistor structures that include, among other components, a substrate having an active region bordered by an isolation region, a gate insulator on the substrate, and a gate conductor on the gate insulator. First and second sections of the gate conductor are within the active region of the substrate, while a third section is in the isolation region of the substrate. The second section of the gate conductor tapers from the width of the first section to the width of the wider third section. The first section and the second section of the gate conductor have undercut regions where the corner of the gate conductor contacts the substrate. The third section of the gate conductor lacks the undercut regions. The gate insulator is relatively thicker in the undercut regions and is relatively thinner where the corner of the gate conductor lacks the undercut regions in the isolation region.

  • Publication number: 20180132347
Abstract: A programmable circuit includes an array of printed groups of microscopic transistors or diodes. The devices are pre-formed and printed as an ink and cured. A patterned hydrophobic layer defines the locations of the printed dots of the devices. The devices in each group are connected in parallel so that each group acts as a single device. Each group has at least one electrical lead that terminates in a patch area on the substrate. An interconnection conductor pattern interconnects at least some of the leads of the groups in the patch area to create logic circuits for a customized application of the generic circuit. The groups may also be interconnected to be logic gates, and the gate leads terminate in the patch area. The interconnection conductor pattern then interconnects the gates for form complex logic circuits.

  • Patent number: 9967267
Abstract: A data recorder stores endpoint activity on an ongoing basis as sequences of events that causally relate computer objects such as processes and files. When a security event is detected, an event graph may be generated based on these causal relationships among the computing objects. For a root cause analysis, the event graph may be traversed in a reverse order from the point of an identified security event (e.g., a malware detection event) to preceding computing objects, while applying one or more cause identification rules to identify a root cause of the security event. Once a root cause is identified, the event graph may be traversed forward from the root cause to identify other computing objects that are potentially compromised by the root cause.

  • Publication number: 20180114775
Abstract: Active LEDs have a control transistor in series with an LED and have a top electrode, a bottom electrode, and a control electrode. The active LEDs are microscopic and dispersed in an ink. A substrate has column lines, and the active LEDs are printed at various pixel locations so the bottom electrodes contact the column lines. A hydrophobic mask defines the pixel locations. Due to the printing process, there are different numbers of active LEDs in the various pixel locations. Row lines and control lines contact the top and control electrodes so that the active LEDs in each single pixel location are connected in parallel. If the LEDs emit blue light, red and green phosphors are printed over various pixel locations to create an ultra-thin color display. Any active LED may be addressed using row and column addressing, and the brightness may be controlled using the control lines.

  • Publication number: 20180115850
Abstract: Methods a provided for improving an audio scene for people suffering from hearing loss or for adverse hearing environments. Audio objects may be prioritized. In some implementations, audio objects that correspond to dialogue may be assigned to a highest priority level. Other implementations may involve assigning the highest priority to other types of audio objects, such as audio objects that correspond to events. During a process of dynamic range compression, higher-priority objects may be boosted more, or cut less, than lower-priority objects. Some lower-priority audio objects may fall below the threshold of human hearing, in which case the audio objects may be dropped and not rendered.

  • Publication number: 20180101372
Abstract: Compiling a software application on a cloud computer system. An indication is received from a client at a cloud computer system. The indication comprises an indication that an uncompiled created software application is to be compiled. Receiving the indication includes receiving a document from the client, wherein the document comprises source code associated with the uncompiled created software application. The document is created at the client, wherein the client is at a location remote from the cloud computer system. In response to receiving the indication to compile the created software application, the document is compiled at the cloud computer system such that the compiled document is executable as a software application. The compiled document is then sent to the client for use as the software application, and stored in a cloud storage application repository such that sharing of compiled documents associated with executable software applications is possible.

  • Publication number: 20180102652
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a power receiving unit having a wireless power receiver that receives a wireless power signal from a power transmitting unit. A rectifier circuit rectifies the wireless power signal to generate a rectified power signal in response thereto for charging a battery. A first wireless radio unit exchanges control data with a second wireless radio unit of the power transmitting unit via a wireless control channel, wherein the exchange of control data facilitates establishment of the wireless control channel, establishment of a charging session between the power receiving unit and the power transmitting unit, and control of the charging session between the power receiving unit and the power transmitting unit.
