    Abstract: The gifting systems and corresponding methods of the present disclosure electronically provide a stored value instrument as a gift in place of a suggested product. The methods include taking a selected product offered for sale on a merchant's eCommerce website, converting that product into a gift suggestion, and delivering a personalized message including the gift suggestion and the stored value instrument to a gift recipient, based on various calculations, rules, and user inputs. The gift recipient can either purchase the suggested gift or any other gift from the eCommerce website's merchant using the stored value instrument. These systems and methods support multiple contributors to the gift and can be used via social or non-social networks. These systems and methods also support the delivery of personalized online messages related to a gift via social networks, email, or SMS. The personalized online messages include eGreeting cards, written messages, video recordings, and/or photos.

The system may determine a classification code based on such preliminary data and use that classification code to search or query a database storing information indicative of parameters required to compute tax for items having such a classification code. The system may map the received preliminary data into the learned required parameters and determine whether there are any required parameters for which there has not been any preliminary data mapped into them. The system may prompt the customer (e.g., seller of the item) or other user for data values of such missing required parameters or otherwise obtain data values of such parameters in order to compute the tax for the item.

    Abstract: A secure data fabric (SDF) can include a security platform for sharing data, access and discovery of data, and audit traceability, across disparate data stores and networks. A SDF can leverage blockchain with attribute-based access control (ABAC). A SDF platform can include an immutable data storage medium, a data sharing node, a central processing unit, and memory having software, which can be configured to implement a blockchain and an ABAC module. The immutable data storage medium can be part of a network. The immutable data storage medium can be immutable off-chain data storage for the SDF, and a multi-layered ABAC security policy can be implemented for the SDF. The SDF can have a cross-domain topology model. A multi-party workflow for account keys and digital signatures management can be further implemented. A microservices-based access control module can be configured to dynamically evaluate digital security policies for a secure data fabric.

    Abstract: Optically isolated micromachined (MEMS) switches and related methods are described. The optically isolated MEMS switches described herein may be used to provide isolation between electronic devices. For example, the optically isolated MEMS switches of the types described herein can enable the use of separate grounds between the receiving electronic device and the control circuitry. Isolation of high-voltage signals and high-voltage power supplies can be achieved by using an optical isolator and a MEMS switch, where the optical isolator controls the state of the MEMS switch. In some embodiments, utilizing optical isolators to provide high voltages, the need for electric high-voltage sources such as high-voltage power supplies and charge pumps may be removed, thus removing the cause of potential damage to the receiving electronic device. In one example, the optical isolator and the MEMS switch may be co-packaged on the same substrate.
