  • Patent number: 11192170
Abstract: The profile shape of the vessel body and of handle portion is formed from a single sheet of metal to create a flat by cutting, stamping or blanking. An opening is created in the handle portion to reduce heat propagation. The shape of the pan body is formed by spinning with the flat handle portion. The handle is formed by creating three-dimensional contours in the handle portion of the blank. The neck portion has a flat section adjacent the pan body followed by sections of different curvature. One section of the neck portion has a deeply curved cross-section. That neck portion transitions to the hand grip portion which has a reduced curvature, particularly toward the unattached end of the handle. The neck portion may have a “W” cross sectional shape. The handle grip portion may have a “U” shaped cross-section for comfort.

  • Publication number: 20210341397
Abstract: A method for X-ray measurement includes generating and directing an X-ray beam to a sample including at least first and second layers stacked on one another, the X-ray beam incident on a sample location at which the first and second layers include respective first and second high aspect ratio (HAR) structures. X-ray scatter profiles are measured, that are emitted from the sample location in response to the X-ray beam as a function of tilt angle between the sample and the X-ray beam. A shift is estimated, between the first and second layers and a characteristic tilt of the first and second layers, based on the X-ray scatter profiles measured as a function of the tilt angle.

  • Publication number: 20210274964
Abstract: An espresso machine is provided that utilizes a mechanical valve in addition to a flow meter. This results in a low-cost espresso machine while delivering a measured volume of water for the espresso pour. The mechanical valve facilitates a machine with both selectable espresso pour and steam and/or hot water outlets. In this embodiment, the espresso machine utilizes a shared pump and water heater (e.g., a thermoblock, boiler or similar) for multiple functions and/or through different outlets. For example, water from the reservoir may be sent through the flow meter to the pump, then to the water heater, and eventually to either the grouphead or steam wand, or to a pressure release.

  • Publication number: 20210262281
Abstract: The construction of rapid opening thermally insulated roller doors is challenging in that there are both structural and operational challenges. The door blades need to have structural strength, and also need to have dimensional stability. Disclosed is a thermally insulated roller door blade in which at least the material forming the outer surface is able to resist the tensile loads during retraction, and the blade is provided with flexible spacer strips that help the primary insulating material of the door blade to maintain dimensional stability, primarily by helping to resist crushing. This allows softer materials to be used for thermal insulation than previously used, helping to reduce weight and to improve thermal efficiency, while at the same time allowing smooth and repeatable operation even when exposed to freezing temperatures for long periods.
