  • Patent number: 10908678
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods for providing a fused image that combines image data of a scene received from an imaging system with a chart to aid in the navigation of a mobile structure. Specifically, the fused image may be generated by superimposing various image elements extracted from an image onto various locations on the chart that correlate to the actual positions of the objects within the scene. In some embodiments, one or more non-water objects may be detected within the image, image representations of the non-water objects may be extracted from the image feed, and the extracted image representations may be superimposed onto locations on the chart that are determined to correlate to the actual positions of the non-water objects within the scene.

  • Patent number: 10902081
Abstract: The approved email generation system described is capable of producing email communications using approved email templates and content that have been aligned with information regarding user access to such content. Once the approved email has been generated, the content may be verified again for accuracy and validity before being delivered to the user. When the user accesses delivered content, the approved email generation system again verifies the content and allows the user access to only the most current version of the content available. The system provides for control of the content of electronic communications to users.

  • Publication number: 20210016893
Abstract: Sensor data is received from an inertial measurement unit on a vehicle. An observed attitude and an observed attitude rate of the vehicle are determined based on the sensor data. Using a model associated with a vehicle failure mode, an expected attitude and an expected attitude rate of the vehicle are determined. A malfunctioning rotor is determined based on the observed attitude, the observed attitude rate, the expected attitude, and the expected attitude rate. In response to identifying the malfunctioning rotor, a responsive action is performed, including by updating a geometry matrix so that at least one non-malfunctioning rotor in the plurality of rotors compensates for the malfunctioning rotor.

  • Publication number: 20200401143
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide perimeter ranging for navigation of mobile structures. A navigation control system includes a logic device, a perimeter ranging system, one or more actuators/controllers, and modules to interface with users, sensors, actuators, and/or other elements of a mobile structure. The logic device is configured to receive perimeter sensor data from ultrasonic perimeter ranging sensor assemblies of the perimeter ranging system and generate an obstruction map based on the received perimeter sensor data. The logic device determines a range to and/or a relative velocity of a navigation hazard based on the received perimeter sensor data. The logic device determines navigation control signals based on the range and/or relative velocity of the navigation hazard. Control signals may be displayed to a user and/or used to adjust a steering actuator, a propulsion system thrust, and/or other operational systems of the mobile structure.

  • Patent number: 10845824
Abstract: An input attitude associated with an input device of an aircraft is received. A supplemental attitude is generated, including by selecting a position-based supplemental attitude to be the supplemental attitude in the event the input device is in a disengaged state and selecting a velocity-based supplemental attitude to be the supplemental attitude in the event the input device is in an engaged state. The input attitude and the supplemental attitude are combined in order to obtain a combined attitude. The aircraft is controlled using the combined attitude.

  • Patent number: 10837780
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods for navigating mobile structures. The mobile structure may include a main attitude & heading reference system (AHRS) and one or more devices. The one or more devices may include a slave AHRS such as a gyroscope. Data may be transmitted from the main AHRS to the one or more devices through a network. Latency may be present in the transmission of data. As such, data from the slave AHRS may be used to determine changes in heading and/or attitude of the mobile structure to compensate for such latency. In addition, such data may be used to determine changes in wind direction and/or heading experienced by the mobile structure.

  • Patent number: 10841047
Abstract: Methods and systems for reliable broadcasting that use re-transmissions, in a multi-hop, time-slotted wireless network, is presented. The methods and systems evaluate the trade-off between power consumption and communication reliability, and are consequently able to provide increasing degrees of robustness for broadcasts in the wireless network. Embodiments of the present invention are able to incrementally use re-transmissions, therein trading-off battery life for an increased message completion rate or a lower packet error rate, for example, in order to reliably broadcast critical or high-priority message network-wide.
