  • Publication number: 20100063388
Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, fiducial marker devices, tools, and methods. One example illustrates a combined computed tomography (CT) imageable fiducial locator head, an integral bone screw, and an integral divot for receiving a positioning wand of an image-guided surgical (IGS) workstation. A further example includes a fluid/gel-absorbing coating or cover into which a magnetic resonance (MR) imageable fluid is introduced, thereby permitting both CT and MR imaging. Protective caps and collars may be used to protect the fiducial marker from mechanical impact and/or to guide the fiducial marker during affixation. A bull's-eye or other template is used to select a center of a substantially spherical fiducial marker head on an image, such as for use during patient registration.

  • Publication number: 20090259878
Abstract: A multirate transmission system for transmitting parallel input data from a first location to a second location includes a transmitter portion and a receiver portion. The transmitter portion receives the parallel data, including the information related to a parallel data clock and stores the data in a buffer where it is subsequently read and serialized for transmission on a serial data link to the receiver portion where it is deserialized, including recovery of the parallel data clock in the serialized data stream. The receiver portion stores the parallel data in a buffer where it is read at a data rate corresponding to the parallel data clock of the incoming parallel data. The parallel data at the transmitter portion is associated with generated control characters when parallel data is not read from the buffer associated with the transmitter portion.

  • Patent number: 7584498
Abstract: A channel search algorithm is provided for application at a receiving end of a data transmission channel. In the operation of the data transmission channel, information is transmitted by modulation of an RF carrier and the modulation includes an encoding of information bits by symbols selected from a known symbol constellation, with one or more symbol constellations being established in accordance with a known standard. The channel search algorithm is operative to recognize and select a channel carrying an information signal modulated by a symbol constellation other than that established by the standard, and that selection of a channel using a non-standard symbol constellation is made in seamless coordination with the operation of a channel search, in accordance with the standard, for signals modulated by symbol constellations established by the standard.
