  • Publication number: 20080011285
Abstract: A trailer-mounted grill comprises a trailer, a rotisserie grill assembly and a drive system. The trailer includes a frame structure and wheels rotatably attached to the trailer structure in a manner enabling the wheels to rollably support the frame structure on a surface. The rotisserie grill assembly includes a cooking chamber attached to the frame structure and a rotisserie apparatus rotatably attached to the cooking chamber. The cooking chamber includes an interior space and the rotisserie apparatus includes spaced-apart grill units within the interior space of the cooking chamber such that the grill units are rotatable within the interior space of the cooking chamber. The drive system is engaged with the rotisserie apparatus for rotating the rotisserie apparatus with respect to the cooking chamber.

  • Patent number: 7282105
Abstract: Miniature planar IR waveguides of thickness 30–50 ?m, consisting of 12-mm long, 2-mm wide strips of Ge supported on ZnS substrates and tapered quasi-tapered waveguides, tapered from a thickness of 1 mm at the ends to a minimum of 1–100 ?m at the center, are disclosed. The surface sensitivity is increased as a function of incidence or bevel angle. The tapered waveguide improves the efficiency of the optical coupling both into the waveguide from an FTIR spectrometer, and out of the waveguide onto a small-area IR detector. The tapering makes it possible to dispense with using an IR microscope couple light through the waveguide, enabling efficient coupling with a detector directly coupled to an immersion lens. This optical arrangement makes such thin supported waveguides more useful as sensors, because they can be made quite long (e.g. 50 mm) and mounted horizontally.

  • Patent number: 7275300
Abstract: The process for stator bar rewinds includes disassembly of the stator bars at the generator site, measurement of the stator bars, forwarding digital representations of the measurements to a manufacturing center and forming 3-Dimensional models of the stator bars requiring replacement and the stator. The stator bar 3D model is placed in the stator 3D model to insure accuracy of fit. Tooling and stator bar drawings are generated and sample stator bars are manufactured. 3D modeling of the manufactured sample stator bars are compared to the nominal 3D models to insure accuracy. The replacement stator bars are manufactured and forwarded in batches for assembly into the extant generator.

  • Patent number: 7261478
Abstract: A printing device (10) such as a laser printer includes a radio frequency controller (38) which permits the detection and redirection of media having one or more defective radio frequency device tags, such as an RFID tag, to a specific one of two or more output options (50, 52). The radio frequency controller (38) may include radio frequency control logic (500) that communicates with the base printer (10) and the output options (50, 52) over a down port (506) and up port (508) to intercept commands from the printer (10) to the options (50, 52) and to also respond to such commands. A defective tag can be detected by attempting to program a tag using an RF reader/programmer (504).

  • Patent number: 7259519
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for measuring cathode fall in fluorescent lamps are disclosed. Together with measurements of cathode temperature, such measurements of cathode fall may inform a determination of cathode heater voltage as a function of discharge current (i.e., a cathode-heating-profile) that avoids both sputtering and excess-evaporation.

  • Patent number: 7250944
Abstract: Geo View is a three-dimensional virtual universe in which a real-world or virtual object may be represented by one or more virtual objects whose attributes are derived from attributes of the real-world object via a flexible user-specifiable mapping. Typically a two-dimensional plane located in three-dimensional space is used to visualize the universe of interest. The placement of virtual objects in the universe typically having a shape is governed by the absolute or relative geographical location of the real-world objects, and also by a flexible set of user-specified layout rules. In addition to the visualisation of various objects, the human observer can attach sounds to objects. The representation of real-world objects with rapidly time-changing attributes may be simplified by the use of Synthetic Strobes, flexible user-specified filters which shift changes in the visual attributes of a shape from one time-domain to another.

  • Patent number: 7249819
Abstract: The presence of a radio frequency signature (88) on a cut sheet of print media (28) is detected by a radio frequency interrogating device (94) to determine it's relative left/right position on the print media (28). Either the leading edge (124) or trailing edge (126) of the print media (28) is detected by one or more print media sensors (86, 90). A print controller (24) can note the time (t1) when print media is detected and cause the radio frequency interrogating device (94) to detect the radio frequency signature (88) at a time (t2) when the print media has reached a predetermined point along the print media pathway (110). The position of the radio frequency signature (88) on the print media (28) can be calculated using the time differential (t2-t1) and the known angular displacement of the radio frequency interrogating device (94).

  • Patent number: 7231997
Abstract: An air-based thrust recovery system for use in a powered lift platform utilizing fixed-pitch propellers is provided. The system utilizes an air compressor coupled to the drive motor of the platform and an on-board, high pressure tank for air storage. The fixed-pitch propellers are coupled to the primary drive system with over-running clutches, thus allowing the thrust recovery system to rotate the propellers faster than if driven solely by the primary drive system. Preferably the propellers are surrounded by air ducts. The thrust recovery system uses individually, or in combination, cold air jets mounted at the tips of the propellers, a circulation control system which blows out the leading or trailing edge of the propellers, and one or more perforated tubing segments surrounding at least a portion of the platform's air ducts.

  • Patent number: 7223030
Abstract: A printing system (250) includes a printing subsystem (255) in the form of a printer assembly (14). The printing subsystem (255) includes a printer housing (257) in which a print engine (259) resides and a memory (261) for storing data indicating the position of labels on media. The contents of memory (261) can be obtained from an end user application (270) which may supply the position data to the printing subsystem (255) in a print data stream. Pre-programmed position data is read from a tag (88) on print media (28) having multiple tags embedded thereon. The pre-programmed position data is compared to position data received in a print request data stream to determine the position of at least one tag on the print media.

  • Patent number: 7207852
Abstract: A ship propulsion arrangement is provided in which a mechanical drive shaft (3) extends through a hull (9) of a ship (1) to an external body (7). The external body incorporates an electric motor. The mechanical drive shaft (3) is driven when required by either a prime mover (2) located within the ship (1) or by the electric motor in the external body (7). This arrangement provides the benefits of hybrid operation without necessary accommodation of the electric motors within the limited hull space available in a ship (1).
