  • Publication number: 20190041822
Abstract: A monitoring and control system receives, from sensing capable devices situated within a designated area and in communication with the monitoring and control system, input indicating a respective number of events. The system identifies, for each of the events, a probability for taking each of a number of actions in response to the event, then calculates, for each of the actions, an overall probability for taking the action based on the identified probabilities for taking the action in response to the number of events, and selects one or more actions to be taken responsive to the number of events and the calculated overall probability for taking the action, for each of the actions, exceeding a respective threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180375339
Abstract: An electrical power distribution system includes an electrical power router with input ports and output ports and distributes an electrical signal received on one of the input ports to one of output ports. An electrical input adapter coupled to one of the input ports and further to couple to an electrical power source receives and convert an electrical signal input from the electrical power source to the electrical signal distributed by the power router. An electrical output adapter coupled to one of the output ports and further to couple to an electrical power load receives and converts the electrical signal distributed by the power router from the one of the output ports to an electrical signal output to the electrical power load. A controller coupled to the electrical input adapter, the electrical output adapter, and the electrical power router, controls transmission of the electrical signal from the electrical input adapter to the electrical output adapter through the electrical power router.

  • Publication number: 20180354743
Abstract: A method and system are provided for splicing a reserve nose wire to a running nose wire in a facemask production line. Prior to depletion of the running nose wire, a reserve nose wire is brought up to a transport speed in a conveying direction of the running nose wire. At or near a zero relative speed between the running nose wire and the reserve nose wire, a leading end of the reserve nose wire is introduced onto the running nose wire, and the two wires are spliced together. The running nose wire is then cut upstream of the splice location such that the reserve nose wire becomes a new running nose wire in the production line.

  • Publication number: 20180347494
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for enabling a transfer function of a direct injector and a port injector, each fueling an engine cylinder, to be accurately learned. During selected conditions, the direct injected fuel fraction may be actively changed from a target fraction to one of an upper and lower limit of the direct injector so as to provide a measurable air-fuel ratio error. Fueling errors for the distinct fuel injectors is then learned based on the measured air-fuel ratio error relative to the actively changed fuel fraction.

  • Patent number: 10148654
Abstract: Encryption is provided for a wireless network comprising a first wireless station and at least a second wireless station. First messages are exchanged between the first wireless station and the second wireless station over a first synchronous wireless link to establish a shared secret and a first session key, the first messages not being encrypted. The MAC layer of the first synchronous wireless link is then encrypted using encryption on the basis of the first session key, then further messages are exchanged between the first wireless station and the second wireless station over the first synchronous wireless link to establish a second session key, the further messages being encrypted by the encryption of the MAC layer of the first synchronous wireless link. The MAC layer of the first synchronous wireless link is then encrypted using encryption on the basis of the second session key.

  • Patent number: 10143246
Abstract: A method and system are provided for cutting and placing individual nose wires in a facemask production line. A continuous wire is supplied from a source to a cutting station in the production line. At the cutting station, the wire is engaged with a set of driven feed rollers that advance the wire at a first speed to a cutting roller, wherein the wire is cut into individual nose wires. The individual nose wires from the cutting roller are then engaged by a set of delivery rollers to deposit the individual nose wires onto a running carrier web. The delivery rollers are independently driven relative to the feed rollers and cutting roller such that the nose wires from the cutting roller are initially accelerated and transported away from the cutting roller at a second speed that is greater than the first speed and then decelerated and moved onto the carrier web at a third speed that is less than the first speed.
