  • Patent number: 10091831
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes circuitry configured to establish a packet data network (PDN) connection with a first public land mobility network (PLMN) operated by a first network operator. A second PDN connection request is sent to a second PLMN operated by a second network operator that is equivalent to the first PLMN, and at least one action is determined based on receiving a reject message from the second PLMN having at least one of a cause value and a cause type.

  • Patent number: 10034325
Abstract: AT commands are used for controlling Mobile Termination (MT) functions and GSM/UMTS network services from a Terminal Equipment (TE) through Terminal Adaptor (TA). 3GPP introduces multiple backoff timers and barring to solve network congestion problem. However, a TE does not know the timer value and the barring status. In accordance with one novel aspect, a new AT command interface that can respond timer value and barring status to the TE is proposed. It reduces wasteful retries and saves power consumption of the TE. Through the new AT command interface, the TE can query backoff timer status. Via unsolicited result code (URC), the MT can detect backoff timer status change and report updated backoff timer status to the TE.

  • Publication number: 20180132129
Abstract: A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The controller receives a rejection message from the service network via the wireless transceiver in response to initiating a bearer resource modification procedure for releasing a part of a plurality of packet filters, and in response to the rejection message, locally releases the part of the packet filters and performs a tracking area update procedure to synchronize current packet filter status and Quality of Service (QoS) requirement with the service network, or re-initiates the bearer resource modification procedure when a predetermined period of time since the reception of the rejection message has elapsed.

  • Publication number: 20180070238
Abstract: Various solutions for avoiding denial of services with respect to mobile station (MS) and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. A MS may receive a first reject message from a network apparatus in a location area. The first reject message may comprise a first reject cause. The MS may also receive a second reject message from the network apparatus in the location area. The second reject message may comprise a second reject cause. The MS may store an identification of the location area in a forbidden location area list in an event that both the first reject cause and the second reject cause are received from the same location area. The MS may further search for another location area or tracking area.

  • Publication number: 20170289042
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses pertaining to congestion control handling between a communication apparatus and a network apparatus. The communication apparatus may transmit a request message to the network apparatus. The network apparatus may transmit a reject message with a back-off timer value and a back-off priority indication to the communication apparatus. The communication apparatus may determine whether to send a further request message to the network apparatus according to the back-off priority indication.

  • Publication number: 20170215132
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for avoiding reselection of fake cell. The method includes transmitting a first request for network service of a wireless communication network in a first cell from user equipment, receiving a first reject message without integrity protection, adding the first cell to a set-aside cell list, and selecting a cell from other cells that are not included in the set-aside cell list to request network service.

  • Publication number: 20170215126
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for handling reject in wireless communication. The method includes receiving, at an electronic device, a reject message indicative of a forbidden resource of a service provider network to use by the electronic device for wireless communication, determining a reliability attribute of the reject message, storing the forbidden resource associated with the reliability attribute, and maintaining the stored forbidden resource based on the reliability attribute.

  • Publication number: 20160255674
Abstract: Various solutions to handling of registration rejects with respect to user equipment (UE) in mobile communications are described. A UE may transmit a first request to a first network element of a wireless network. The UE may receive a first reject from the first network element. The UE may bar the first network element in response to receiving the first reject from the first network element. The UE may transmit a second request to a second network element of the same wireless network or a different wireless network in response to receiving the first reject from the first network element. Alternatively, the UE may transmit a second request to the first network element after a period of barring time.
