  • Publication number: 20130241215
Abstract: A retractable handle arrangement comprises a handle movable between stowed, deployed and operative states. That movement is controlled by a mechanism having first and second links each connected to a supporting structure and to the handle. At least one of those links is connected to the supporting structure by a joint defining a pivot axis that is movable is response to movement of the handle between the deployed state and the operative state. That movement of the pivot axis is used to unlatch a door or other closure associated with the handle, for example via a crank acting on a Bowden cable.

  • Patent number: 8336929
Abstract: A double latch assembly for a motor vehicle having two pivotably mounted closure members is disclosed in which a sequencing lever is used to release first and second pawls used to hold first and second rotatable claws in respective latched positions. A single actuator A1 is used to release both of the pawls but because of the use of a disengageable coupling between the sequencing lever and the second pawl it is ensured that the first pawl is always released before the second pawl. Only a single actuator A1 is required to release both pawls and no sensors are required to control the sequencing of the pawls.

  • Patent number: 8144198
Abstract: An imaging system, particularly a thermal imager, has a detector operating in at least two sensitivity modes. The detector is read on a pixel-by-pixel basis in each of at least two modes and output therefrom is substantially simultaneously displayed so that a wide range of thermal sensitivities are simultaneously displayed. The detector is, preferably, read out at maximum and minimum sensitivity levels at least half the field rate and, advantageously, at the field rate of a display. In a preferred embodiment, color is added to the normally provided gray scale output from the detector ranging from black for the coolest object through white and yellow to red for the hottest object.
