    Abstract: Disclosed is a fluid-filled cylindrical vibration damping device including an elastic body interposed between an inner and outer sleeves for elastically connecting these sleeves with each other. A plurality of fluid chambers filled with a non-compressible fluid are partially defined by the elastic body so that a pressure of the fluid in the plurality of fluid chambers vary upon application of a vibrational load to the vibration damping device. A first orifice passage permitting a fluid communication between the fluid chambers is at least partially defined by an elastic member adapted to be subjected to shear deformation due to a fluid pressure acting on the first orifice passage so that a cross sectional area of the first orifice passage increases according to an increase of the pressure of the fluid acting on the first orifice passage owing to the shear deformation of the elastic member.

At least two of natural frequencies of the plurality of dynamic dampers are tuned to a higher and a lower frequency range in relation to a central value of a range of variation in a natural frequency of the steering wheel due to an expansion or contraction of the telescopic steering column, within the range of vibration in the natural frequency of the steering wheel. Further, a difference between adjacent ones of the natural frequencies of the plurality of dynamic dampers is made held within 10-40% of the central value of the range of vibration in the natural frequency of the steering wheel.

    Abstract: A vibration restraining apparatus for vehicle of the present invention is comprised of a housing formed by a rigid material and having an inner space, and fixed to a vibration transmitting member; a filled member sealed in the inner space of said housing in a non-adhered state with leaving a gap with respect to a vibrating direction of said housing, and formed by an elastic body at least at a surface thereof. When the housing resonates by vibration transmitted from the vibration transmitting member, the filled member contacts inner surface parts located at both sides of the housing in a vibrating direction thereof to exercise a damping character due to an energy loss caused by a sliding friction and a collision. Thus, a large damping character occurs inside of the housing to reduce vibration of the housing effectively. As a result, vibration of the vibration transmitting member is effectively reduced.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a karaoke authoring apparatus for mixing or authoring karaoke music data based on an electronic music sound source. The invention can analyze chronologically, in a sound reproduction block, the musical performance data expressed by a code such as MIDI code and has a pre-inserted event code, and will generate an interrupt in a timer circuit at a time interval based on the tempo instruction on the code. The invention can also acquire, as an individual file at the timing of the event code, an integrated value given by the timer circuit in accordance with the type of event, and combine and arrange these files in chronological order to calculate a time difference between consecutive event codes, for producing time data. The authored data allows color turning of the words of the music, page turning, presentation of the title of the music and a video image update which is performed accurately to the timing as planned, in synchronism with the musical performance.

    Abstract: A method of supporting an exhaust pipe for an engine of a motor vehicle, on a vehicle body is disclosed. Initially, the exhaust pipe is formed such that the pipe is flexible at an intermediate point thereof in the vicinity of a rear axle of the vehicle, on which a nodal point of a primary natural vibration mode of the vehicle lies. The exhaust pipe has a rear section which extends rearwards from the intermediate point. Then, the rear section of the exhaust pipe is elastically supported on the vehicle body, such that the rear section is oscillatable about the intermediate point relative to the vehicle body. With a natural frequency of the rear section of the exhaust pipe tuned to a primary natural frequency of the vehicle body, the rear section of the pipe serves as a dynamic damper for the vehicle body. Also disclosed is a support structure for supporting the exhaust pipe in the manner described above.
