  • Patent number: 4920915
Abstract: A work holder (12) for holding a workpiece (2) while partially masking the same by use of a mask (18). The workpiece and the mask are elastically pressed against each other by an aggregate (15) of heat-resistant fiber such as metal fiber or ceramic fiber, so that the workpiece and the mask are brought into close contact with each other. This work holder is adapted to form a resistor film (9) on a part of the surface of a chip (2) to form a chip-type resistor (1), for example, by a thin film forming method such as sputtering.

  • Patent number: 4671917
Abstract: Molten oxide of grinding material, refractory material, etc., being poured into a circular casting space formed between coaxially arranged inner and outer cylinders and cooled by the water contained in the inner cylinder. Thus, the molten oxide is cooled radially from the center of the inner cylinder and solidified. The outer cylinder includes two segments which separate from each other for facilitating putting the molten oxide into the casting space and taking the resulting solidified product out of the casting space.

  • Patent number: 4409949
Abstract: A multiple cylinder engine including a first group of cylinders having a first intake passage which is provided with an air-fuel mixture of a predetermined ratio in accordance with the signal from an exhaust gas sensor provided in the exhaust passage from the first group of cylinders. The engine further includes a second group of cylinders having a second intake passage which is provided with a mixture having an air-fuel ratio which is of a predetermined relationship with respect to the air-fuel ratio of the mixture into the first group of cylinders, the predetermined relationship being determined in accordance the engine operating condition. An exhaust gas recirculation system is provided for controlling the recirculation gas flow to the second intake passage with respect to the recirculation gas flow to the first intake passage in accordance with the engine operating condition.

  • Patent number: 4300666
Abstract: A current collecting means in an aerial cableway system collecting electric power for driving a self-propelled aerial carriage, is capable of maximization of the lifetime of a current collecting shoe. The current collecting means comprises a current-carrying cable having at least a planar surface on the outer surrounding thereof and a current collecting shoe having a planar contacting surface to be urged onto the planar surface of the cable. The contact between the shoe and cable is carried out in both planar surfaces to prevent uneven wear of the shoe.
