  • Patent number: 5031220
Abstract: A mobile stereo speaker unit and assembly includes a central speaker for reproducing both left and right stereo sound channels. The central speaker is in a well in the central portion of the front panel of a vehicle, and a reflector is positioned above the speaker to intercept the sound and reflect it in a desired direction. The direction is selectable vertically or horizontally depending on the particular reflector used and the reflected sound may be directed towards the rear or towards the front windshield.

  • Patent number: 5018205
Abstract: In an automatic loudness compensator provided in a sound reproduction device in a vehicle, the sound level is compensated to reproduce a sound source with the high fidelity intended by the producer of the source of sound. The level of sound frequency-pressure is increased or decreased relative to a middle range of sound frequency at a sound level lower or higher than a reference sound level, respectively. The level of sound frequency-pressure is also adjusted based on the noise produced by the movement of the vehicle and on the acoustic characteristic of the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4930721
Abstract: A roll film driving device is capable of accommodating different film cartridges housing reels of different coupling methods to a driving shaft and forwarding and reversing the reeled film by coupling the reel with the driving shaft. The driving shaft is provided with different coupling members respectively adapted to different reels of the film cartridges, wherein each coupling member is bound to the driving shaft in the rotating direction but is axially movable between a coupled position and a noncoupled position, and a coupling member matching the reel of the loaded cartridge is selected to make such movement.

  • Patent number: 4928090
Abstract: An arousal level judging apparatus has a skin potential level (SPL) detection device, a potential change detection device for detecting occurrance and convergence of a pulse of the signal from the SPL detection device, the pulse being caused by skin potential response (SPR), a storing device for storing the SPL value as a reference value, and a comparator for comparing SPL with the reference value to detect a SPL decrease to detect an arousal level decrease of a driver, etc. The reference value is renewed at every occurrance of SPR. When the SPL value indicates that the arousal level of the driver has been decreased, an alarm is caused to wake the driver up.

  • Patent number: 4879572
Abstract: A reader-printer has a first mirror rotatable to a first position in which it is capable of forming a reader optical path for projecting an image light onto a screen and a second position in which it is capable of forming a printer optical path for projecting the image light onto a photosensitive surface, a second mirror disposed in the reader optical path for disposed in the reader optical path for directing the light from the first mirror to the screen, a third mirror disposed in the printer optical path for directing the light from the first mirror to the photosensitive surface, a driving device for rotating the first mirror to the first position and the second position, and a detecting device disposed outside the reader optical path and the printer optical path for receiving the reflected light from the first mirror during the rotation of the first mirror and detecting the image density.

  • Patent number: 4856065
Abstract: In an adjustable power fader device for a loudspeaker system with at least four speakers right and left channel input signals are received by respective power fader circuits. Each power fader circuit has a variable resistor connected across its input terminals and a series of at least two speakers across its output terminals. The sliding terminal of the variable resistor is connected via a capacitor to the mid point of the series of speakers, one of which has good low pitch sound reproduction. The two sliding terminals of the respective power fader circuits are movable together and the level of audio signals applied to the loudspeakers is accordingly adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4817886
Abstract: A film conveying apparatus has a first conveying device for contacting the peripheral surface of a roll film such as a rolled microfilm and rotating the roll film in a direction to advance the leading end edge of the film, and a second conveying device adapted to be urged against the surface of the film led out from the roll film and frictionally drive the film. The film conveying apparatus further has a device for temporarily releasing the pressure contact force of the second conveying device to the surface of the film to prevent oblique movement of the film. The first conveying device has a device for transmitting only the rotation in one direction to a drive shaft so as not to impart a friction load to the microfilm. Further, the first conveying device has its portion of contact with the film protruded to ensure the leading-out of the film.

  • Patent number: 4800413
Abstract: A reader printer includes a rotatable scanning mirror disposed in an optical path formed between a projection lens and a printer section in correspondence with a printer mode, the scanning mirror being rotated to perform scanning of an image and a movable mirror disposed near such a printer mode optical path for movement between an inserted position where it is inserted in the optical path and a retracted position to which it is retracted from the optical path. Movement of the movable mirror causes mutual switching between the printer mode optical path and the reader mode optical path.

  • Patent number: 4571781
Abstract: A button includes a button body having a funnel-shaped button back and a cap mounted on a wide end of the button back, and a tack member adapted to be joined with the small end of the button back for attachment of the button to a garment fabric, the button as attached to the garment fabric defining a hollow interior. The button body includes at least one channel extending between an inclined outer peripheral portion of the button back and an annular rim of the cap secured to the inclined outer peripheral portion. A liquid which has entered in the button's hollow interior can be drained through the channel from the hollow interior.

  • Patent number: 4541154
Abstract: A hooked fabric fastener tape has on one surface of a foundation structure a number of material engaging hooks which have been produced from and by cutting one of loops of synthetic resin threads woven into the foundation structure. One of the hooks is larger in height than the other hook so as to provide a large opening between the respective end portions thereof for easy reception of cooperating loops of mating looped fabric fastener tape. The hooks of different height are reliably engageable with any of the cooperating loops fanned apart on the looped fabric fastener tape.
