  • Patent number: 5720024
Abstract: In a distributed computing system consisting of a plurality of computers each holding the computer reliability of its own, one of the computers includes a reliability management program, This reliability management program manages the program reliability required for each of a plurality of programs to be executed in the system. The reliability management program includes the steps of inquiring the computer reliability of each of the other computers to receive the computer reliability held in each of the other computers thereby preparing a computer information table, searching the table to find the values of the computer reliability of the computers corresponding to those of the program reliability of the individual programs, and allocating, on the basis of the result of the search, the individual programs to the individual computers.

  • Patent number: 5600420
Abstract: An intermediate transfer unit is constructed by covering a conductive cylindrical base member of drum-shape with an elastic member of belt-shape, the elastic member of belt-shape being adhesively fixed to the base member with an adhesive agent, grooves or pits being provided on the surface of the cylindrical base member, the elastic member of belt-shape being adhesively fixed by the adhesive agent filled in the grooves or pits. The adhesive agent has a resistivity smaller than at least the resistivity of the elastic member of belt-shape. By doing so, it is possible to construct and keep the uniform distribution of resistivity without change by environment and deterioration with age, and to realize proper transferring. Furthermore, since the diametrical change of the drum due to uneven application of the adhesive agent can be minimized, the effect on misalignment in color can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 5598402
Abstract: Multiplexer/de-multiplexer units 201 to 296 directly multiplexes or de-multiplexes data signals from terminals. A leased line allotting unit 20 normally allotting all time slots on a multiplexed signal bus 25 to the side of a high rate 6 Mbps digital leased line 3. Switched line allotting units 21 to 24 execute allotting, in the event of a trouble in the leased line, the multiplexed signal time slots on the multiplexed signal bus in four divisions to the side of respective 1.5 Mbps switched lines 41 to 44 through transmission rate conversion. A control unit executes a time slot allotting change.

  • Patent number: 5291254
Abstract: In an electrophotographic recording apparatus, toner images of different colors formed on a photosensitive belt are transferred in overlapping fashion to an intermediate transfer drum to form a color toner image and the color toner image is transferred to a secondary recording medium by means of a transfer unit and then fixed. The intermediate transfer drum includes an electrically conductive drum substrate and a dielectric layer whose resistance is adjusted to a predetermined range, and the drum substrate is connected to earth potential so that setting of an electric field for toner image transfer from the photosensitive belt may not interfere with setting of an electric field for toner image transfer by the transfer unit. Efficiencies of transfer at the two transfer sections can be improved to provide a color image of high quality and the apparatus can be reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 4581768
Abstract: In a VHF tuner, feedback capacitance between the emitter of a local oscillating transistor and the ground in a local oscillator is changed at the low band receiving state and high band receiving state by controlling a switching diode connected in series to a capacitor for feedback capacitance and, a mixer is installed to mix the output of the local oscillator and high frequency input. For an improved mixer biasing circuit, the switching diode in series connection to the capacitor for feedback capacitance is connected to one terminal of a mixing FET in the mixer, and changing of the feedback capacitance in the local oscillator is accompanied by changing of working current of the mixing FET in the local oscillator.
