  • Publication number: 20020140930
Abstract: A system and method for performing optical inspection of structures on the surface of a semiconductor wafer. The wafer surface is illuminated with a polychromatic light source. A multiple-charged couple-device (CCD) camera is positioned to capture light diffracted by the structures on the wafer surface at the first order of diffraction. The captured light is then separated into a plurality of component wavelengths which are directed onto the CCDs. A digital filter creates a plurality of digitized diffractive images of the wafer surface at different component wavelengths. The diffractive images may be integrated and analyzed to detect defects in the structures, or may be analyzed individually. An image at a particular wavelength may be selected and analyzed by using the known grating pitch of the structures to calculate the wavelength.

  • Publication number: 20020106086
Abstract: A data delivery system highly resistant to misappropriation of data. A plurality of pieces of key information are generated on the basis of an encryption key specific to each digital data item to be delivered. The multiple pieces of key information are delivered over routes which differ from the routes used to deliver the digital data and which further differ from each other. Physically different media or transmission over a network at different times are used to transmit the different sets of key information separately.

The multiple pieces of key information are delivered over routes which differ from the routes used to deliver the digital data and which further differ from each other. Physically different media or transmission over a network at different times are used to transmit the different sets of key information separately. A downstream system includes a decryption server that uses the recovered encryption key to decrypt the delivered digital data. If the digital data is successfully decrypted, scramble and descramble keys are locally generated, with the scramble key being used to scramble the decrypted digital data.

  • Publication number: 20010014372
Abstract: A developing unit, a coating unit and a plurality of cooling plates are arranged in a process station which performs a resist coating and so on and a wafer is transferred among them by a substrate transfer device. The temperature of an area to where the wafer is transferred is detected by a temperature/humidity detector and the temperature of the wafer which is cooled by the cooling plates is adjusted accordingly based on a detected value so that the temperature of the wafer when transferred to the coating unit becomes a coating temperature of a processing solution. Thereby, the wafer is transferred to the coating unit while maintaining its temperature with high accuracy to be coated with a resist solution, so that a formation of an uneven processing due to the temperature change can be prevented and a uniform processing can be performed.

  • Patent number: 5506903
Abstract: A digital multiplex transmission system wherein the rate of convolution codes can be changed over in accordance with an object of a user without changing the transmission rate. A frame for transmitting system data, first preliminary data, second preliminary data, scramble control data, audio data, video data and Reed-Solomon codes is constructed by allocation of them such that a boundary between each adjacent region may make a vertical straight line. Data of such a frame are coded by convolution coding and then transmitted. When the transmission line is in a deteriorated condition, the rate of the convolution codes is reduced to increase the correcting faculty for the convolution codes. In contrast, when the transmission line is in a good condition, the rate of the convolution codes is increased to transmit a large amount of data.

  • Patent number: 4896209
Abstract: A passenger vehicle polling system. The system is capable of polling one or more terminal units, where each terminal unit is provided at a different one of a plurality of passenger seats in a passenger vehicle, to obtain information indicative of the state of each terminal unit. The polling is accomplished by transmitting a polling command signal from a head end apparatus through a transmission line to the terminal units. Preferably, a sensor is mounted adjacent each passenger seat to sense the status of the passenger seat. The sensed information is transmitted as a polling answer signal through the transmission line to the head end apparatus so that the status of each passenger seat and the condition of each passenger can be checked from the head end apparatus. Further, a system according to the invention may transmit audio and video programs to the terminal units, and the polling answer signal may indicate which audio or video program has been selected at each terminal unit.
