  • Patent number: 4903099
Abstract: A field effect transistor for use as an ion sensor has a P-type silicon substrate on which are formed a source region and a drain region. An N-type isolation diffusion layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the silicon substrate and this diffusion layer is surrounded by an insulation layer. According to this arrangement, even when the potential of the electrolyte has been raised to a level which is positive with respect to the silicon substrate, an electrical isolation is established by the reverse dielectric strength exhibited by the P-N junction.

  • Patent number: 4476169
Abstract: A multilayer glass structure constructed by joining the edge portions of a plurality of glass sheets by a sealant through spacers having an adsorbent filled therein. According to this invention, the adsorbent comprises a combination of a granular zeolite composed of a core of a synthetic zeolite/clay binder mixture containing the synthetic zeolite in an amount larger than its average content in the granular zeolite and a shell of a synthetic zeolite/clay binder mixture containing the clay in an amount larger than its average content in the granular zeolite, with granular activated carbon having on its surface 1 to 20% by weight, based on the activated carbon, of a coating of a synthetic resin latex. The adsorbent can effectively adsorb water vapor and the vapor of an organic solvent evaporated from the sealant, and prevent dew deposition on the glass surface. Moreover, it does not yield dust even when the glass structure is handled under severe conditions.

  • Patent number: 4394763
Abstract: An error-correcting system is disclosed, which is located between a main memory and a central processing unit. The system includes a relief bit memory, an ECC or Error Correction Code logic circuit, a switching circuit and a correction controlling circuit. The ECC logic circuit detects the occurrence of a soft error and a hard error. When a hard error occurs in the memory, the defective memory cell thereof is switched to the relief bit memory. Accordingly, data to be written into the main memory or the relief bit memory is switched by means of the switching circuit. Similarly, data to be read from the main memory or the relief bit memory is also switched by the switching circuit. The data to be stored in the relief bit memory is validated by means of the ECC logic circuit and the switching circuit. Further, the (n+1)-bit soft and hard errors are reduced to n-bit soft and hard errors by means of the ECC logic circuit and the switching circuit.

  • Patent number: 4351738
Abstract: A yarn treating composition useful for application to a filamentary yarn for high-speed friction draw-false twisting. This composition comprises substantially a polyether having a molar copolymerization ratio between propylene and ethylene oxides of 35:65-90:10 and an average molecular weight of 1,000 to 15,000, and small amounts of anionic compounds. The anionic compounds are used in the form of a mixture of salts of specific dicarboxylic acid derivatives with phosphate compounds and/or sulfonate compounds. The application of said treating composition to yarns provides a reduction of fluctuation in friction between the yarns and rollers, guides, etc. and of frictional resistance at a high running speed, improvement in threading property in false twisting, and a sharp decrease in scum deposits on heaters.
