  • Patent number: 6653769
Abstract: Spacers used in a picture display device are formed of a sintered product having a structure in which at least one kind of metal selected from the group consisting of Si, Zn, Al, Sn, Cu and Mg is dispersed in a glass. In the picture display device using spacers, therefore, the spacers are effectively prevented from being electrically charged and, besides, trouble such as distortion in the displayed picture caused by the electric charge in the spacers is effectively prevented, too. In producing the spacers by firing, further, the volume expands due to the oxidation of the metal component, whereby shrinkage due to firing is effectively relaxed, making it possible to produce the spacers maintaining a high dimensional precision. Besides, the spacers are effectively prevented from being deformed by the shrinkage caused by firing.

  • Publication number: 20010007048
Abstract: The invention provides an adsorbing and separating agent for halogenated aromatic compounds, and an adsorbing and separating method for the compounds. Using the adsorbing and separating agent of the invention gives a high-purity, halogenated aromatic compound isomer. In the adsorbing and separating method of the invention, the adsorbent used is prevented from being deteriorated and its life can be prolonged. The adsorbent for separating halogenated aromatic compounds of the invention has a porosity o from 0.20 cc/cc to 0.37 cc/cc, a packing density of from 0.50 g/ml to 0.70 g/ml, and a grain size of from 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm. With the adsorbent, a halogenated aromatic compound isomer is separated and recovered; or a halogenated aromatic compound having a dissolved oxygen content of at most 15 ppm by weight is separated and recovered with an adsorbent. In the method, at least one, high-purity isomer can be efficiently separated and recovered from a mixture of halogenated aromatic compound isomers.

  • Patent number: 6098483
Abstract: A short stroke shift lever device that is capable of shifting gears within a small space by a ratchet-like mechanism. When a pivotally mounted shift lever is moved from an intermediate portion of a shift groove to a front end or rear end of the shift groove with a pin of a ball shaft coming into a hole of a control plate, the ball shaft rotates via the joint toward the front side or rear side and the control plate rotates around the shaft; subsequently, a protrusion comes into a groove adjacent to the groove into which the protrusion had come until then, and the shift position of an automatic transmission is changed one step. By repeating a pivotal movement of the shift lever, the gear of the automatic transmission may be changed to any position. The device reduces the amount of space required for installation of the shift lever.

  • Patent number: 5685357
Abstract: A metallic feed initially in a solid state is fed into a cylinder barrel of an injection molding machine. The metallic feed is melted by applying heat to the metallic feed from outside the cylinder barrel and by heat produced from frictional and shearing forces generated by rotation of a screw housed within the cylinder barrel. The cylinder barrel and screw define at least a feed zone, a compression zone and an accumulating zone. After melting and passing through each of the three zones, the metallic feed is injected into a die, to thereby form a shaped part. The temperature of the metallic feed is controlled to be above the liquidus of the metallic feed during the injecting process.
