  • Publication number: 20030035670
Abstract: A continuous-medium-box feeding device feeds a continuous-medium box to a printing device printing on a continuous medium fed from the continuous-medium box containing the continuous medium. The continuous-medium-box feeding device comprises a set table capable of sliding between a first position and a second position adjacent to the first position, and a stand-by table capable of sliding between the first position and a third position adjacent to the second position. At the first position, the continuous medium can be fed from the continuous-medium box to the printing device. At the second position, the continuous-medium box can be removed from the set table. At the second and third positions, a continuous-medium box containing a continuous medium to be printed on next can be placed on the stand-by table. In the continuous-medium-box feeding device, the stand-by table can feed the continuous-medium box on the set table positioned at the first position.

  • Publication number: 20020165030
Abstract: The objective is to prevent erroneous operation of an optical sensor while removing restrictions on the degree of freedom of design. In a handgun-shaped controller comprising a lens for focusing light that is incident on a muzzle and an optical sensor 18 for detecting the thus-focused light, a light-proof case 50 is provided to cover the lens and optical sensor in such a manner that external light other that from a muzzle is not incident thereon. The light-proof case covers the entire surface of the optical sensor and the portion of the board on which the optical sensor is mounted. Cut-out portions 54A and 54B for through-holes for signal terminals 19 are provided in a connection portion between parts 50A and 50B that form the light-proof case. A protuberant portion is provided on the connection portion of one part 50A and a fit portion thereof is provided in the connection of another part 50B.

  • Patent number: 5813903
Abstract: A sander (1) has a motor (3) with a motor shaft (4) mounted in a bearing box (11) via an eccentric ball bearing (10). Coupled to the bearing box (11) is a pad (12) having a bulged square shape in a horizontal cross section. The sander (1) further includes a skirt (6) with an opening (6a) on which a synthetic (polyurethane rubber) brake ring (17) is mounted. The brake ring (17) comprises an outer peripheral portion (18) and a plurality of contact portions (19) disposed at regular intervals around the outer peripheral portion (18). Each contact portion (19) is bulged toward the center of the brake ring (17) with both ends connected to the outer peripheral portion (18). Also, the contact portions (19) are elastic so as to deform in the radial direction. The contact portions (19) together form a through-hole (21) which is slightly smaller than the bearing box (11) for receiving the bearing box.

  • Patent number: 5130270
Abstract: A hetero-epitaxial liquid phase growth method for growing a compound semiconductor by liquid phase epitaxy includes placing a melt in a closed melt boat on a substrate and epitaxially growing a first thin film, opening the melt boat while the melt remains in a melted state for a predetermined time to evaporate a component of the melt, and epitaxially growing a second thin film on the first thin film from the melt from which the component has been evaporated.

  • Patent number: 4421621
Abstract: A quartz crystal oscillator including a quartz crystal plate defining a tuning fork having a base, two vibratory tines extending from the base and a frame integrally extending from the base and surrounding the tines is provided. The quartz crystal plate is disposed between two cooperating case members in the region of the base and frame. Thin metallic electrodes are disposed on the opposed planar surfaces of the quartz crystal plate. A through-hole or opening is formed in the base region of the vibrator plate for electrically connecting an electrode from one planar surface of the plate to the opposed planar surface for providing two external terminals on one surface case member. The electrical connection through the through-hole or opening is a thin metal film disposed by sputtering or deposition.

  • Patent number: 4293986
Abstract: A quartz crystal oscillator package comprising a quartz crystal vibrator leaf enclosed in an evacuated housing. The vibrator leaf frame is sandwiched and sealed between a pair of housing elements formed by etching at one time the periphery of each housing element and at another time etching a concave portion in each housing element. Opposed concave portions provide the internal volume wherein the vibrator leaf is sealed under vacuum. Using heat and vacuum, a metal film deposited on the sealing surfaces of the housing elements fuses with a binder material to form a eutectic alloy seal. A flat package having small size, high structural strength, an excellent hermetic seal, and high internal vacuum is produced by this method.
