  • Patent number: 6012633
Abstract: An automatic transaction apparatus for allowing users to deposit money in the form of financial documents such as checks has a depository inlet, a document feed mechanism, a reading mechanism, a printing mechanism, and a storage mechanism, all for automatically settling financial documents deposited by users. The depository inlet has a guidance mechanism for indicating a pattern in which to insert the financial document into the depository inlet. According to the pattern indicated by the guidance mechanism, the user can insert the financial document with face and back sides properly directed and in a proper orientation into the depository inlet. Since the financial document is properly inserted into the depository inlet, the automatic transaction apparatus may have a relative simple document deposition mechanism for processing the inserted financial document as the document deposition mechanism does not need to handle financial documents inserted in different patterns.

  • Patent number: 5816775
Abstract: A pump body 10 of a drainage pump 1A comprises a pump chamber 12, inlet 15, and outlet 17. A rotary vane 300 mounted in the pump body 10 is coupled to a motor mounted above the pump body 10, and comprises a shaft 310 and four large-radial blades 320. Formed below the large-radial blades 320 are small-radial blades 350 to make a liquid at the inlet rise. Lower edges of the large-radial blades 320 are connected together by a disk 350 having an opening at the center and interceptively dividing the surface of the liquid rising from the inlet. Thus the amount of the liquid in contact with the large-radial blades 320 above the disk 350 decreases, and the load to the rotary vane decreases. At the same time, bubbles, noise and vibrations caused by bubbles also decrease. By surrounding the outer circumference of the large-radial blades 320 with a ring member, return water W5 moving back from the outlet 17 when the pump stops is damped by the wall member 360 and returns smoothly to the inlet 15.

  • Patent number: 5818596
Abstract: A sample is placed on a sample receiving stage for receiving the sample. The sample is transferred one at a time to a measuring table, and a thickness of a thin film formed on a surface of the sample is measured by irradiating the surface of the sample with a measuring light beam. A covering structure is disposed between the sample receiving stage and the measuring table to define a sample transfer space and a measuring space in which the measuring table is disposed. A high-purity purging gas containing only a very small amount of contaminants is supplied through purging gas supply devices into the transfer space and the measuring space covered with the covering structure.

  • Patent number: 5706799
Abstract: An oxygen respirator with safety and simple handling, comprising a body, a small portable-type oxygen cylinder or oxygen generator mounted on the body, a mask, a first hose transferring oxygen from the body to the mask, a tank member mounted on the body for receiving exhalation, a second hose transferring exhalation from the mask to the body, and a carbon dioxide absorbing material charged in the body for removing carbon dioxide from exhalation sent back from the mask to the body. During emergency and evacuation for example in fire, thus, oxygen is transferred to the mask by removing a trigger or the like. The respirator also enables the reuse of exhalation for respiration. Despite of the small size, therefore, the respirator can protect a user from risks such as suffocation for a relatively long period of time.

  • Patent number: 5503875
Abstract: A film is formed on a substrate by supplying a plurality of processing gases into a processing container and forming the film on the substrate from the processing gases while exhausting a portion of the gases out of the processing container. Before a partial pressure of a byproduct in the processing container produced through chemical reaction of the processing gases reaches an equilibrium state, the partial pressure of the byproduct in the processing container is temporarily reduced by temporarily suppressing or stopping the supply of at least one of the processing gases into the processing container and exhausting gas from the processing container.

  • Patent number: 5482559
Abstract: A heat treatment boat for mounting a number of disc-shaped objects to be treated at a vertical interval for heat treatment thereof in a vertical heat treatment furnace comprises arcuate or ring-shaped support members provided on support rods at a vertical interval for supporting the objects to be treated in surface contact with the undersides of peripheral parts of the objects to be treated. The heat treatment boat is disposed on a ring-shaped intermediate member of high radiant heat absorption disposed on a heat insulating cylinder. The heat treatment boat comprises support rods which are planted on an annular support member circumferentially in accordance with a contour of the objects to be treated and whose upper ends are secured to an annular fixation member. The heat treatment boat of such constitution can reduce occurrences of slips in the disc-shaped objects when heat treated.

  • Patent number: 5316395
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a printing head for printing on a bank book, a platen disposed opposite the printing head, and a cam mechanism for moving the platen. A sensor detects the thickness of the bank book which is between the printing head and the platen, and a sensor moving mechanism moves the sensor toward or away from the platen. A controller controls the operation of the cam mechanism and the sensor moving mechanism as the sensor is moved to a measuring position approaching the printing head. The platen is moved toward the printing head according to a detected value, and then the sensor is retracted from the measuring position. As a result, after moving the platen, the sensor does not contact the surface of the bank book, and therefore does not produce jamming or oblique feeding of the bank book during a line feed or printing operation.
