    Abstract: A system and method for providing wireless data communication between a wireless communication system in an aircraft and a stationary communication server outside the aircraft are disclosed. The wireless communication system includes a router network connected to a plurality of antennas, wherein the router network is configured to transmit and receive wireless data communication to and from a stationary communication server outside said aircraft through at least one ground base station via said antennas. The router network includes a plurality of connectivity nodes being physically separated and distributed within the aircraft, the connectivity nodes being connected to each other via a bus, and each connectivity node including a control unit, at least one modem, and preferably a plurality of modems, and a connection to at least one of the antennas. Further, each antenna is connected only to one of the connectivity nodes.

The wireless communication system comprises at least one antenna, an altitude determining unit, and a router in the aircraft configured to transmit and receive wireless data communication to and from a stationary communication server outside the aircraft through at least one ground base station via the at least one antenna on a plurality of different frequency bands. The router comprises a control unit configured to disable wireless data communication on at least one frequency band when the current altitude of the aircraft is determined to be above an altitude threshold value. Hereby, it is possible to provide a more stable data link between clients connected to the aircraft wireless communication system and remote external servers.

Based on said matching reference image data, said object is located at a position within said point of interest. The method includes the steps of: collecting signal quality data from the at least one client for an extended time period when moving in the area, the signal quality data including a plurality of data entries; determining a position in the area at which each of the data entries was collected and a time at which each of the data entries was collected; identifying an anomaly in the signal quality data, by comparing newly collected signal quality data with previously collected data. A source of error may be determined from the time and position when the signal quality data having an anomaly was collected.
