  • Patent number: 6466466
Abstract: An electric supply system comprising two or more phases (R2, S2, T2), one rectifier (101, 103, 105) for each phase, the second primary terminals of said rectifiers (101, 103, 105) being interconnected, also comprises an Artificial Neutral Point (ANP) creating means (A2) for creating an artificial neutral point (NA2) in the electric supply system, connected in parallel with said rectifiers. The ANP means (A2) short-circuits the zero sequence voltage component of the system but does not affect the positive and negative sequence components. The ANP means (A2) includes magnetic components of such a kind that the vector sum of the phase voltages is zero. According to a first embodiment, the ANP means (A2) comprises one transformer (113, 115, 117) for each phase, the primary winding of each transformer connected to the respective phase (R2, S2, T2) in a star configuration, the secondary windings serially connected and the interconnection point of the primary windings forming an artificial neutral point.

  • Publication number: 20010014106
Abstract: Microwaves are generated by heterodyning the outputs of two or more optical lasers which have differing central frequencies to produce beat frequencies in the microwave range. One of the beat frequencies is used to modulate the output of at least one of the lasers so as to produce sidebands which differ from the central frequency by an integral number of the sideband frequency. Each laser is connected to one of the other lasers by a weak optical link to optically injection lock the laser to the sideband of the other laser.

  • Patent number: 6241037
Abstract: A device for a differential gear for vehicles having a driving mechanism capable of driving the vehicle and a steering mechanism capable of changing the direction of the vehicle, which differential gear has an input driving shaft, two output shafts connected to the vehicle's driving mechanism, at least one hydraulic pump capable of producing a hydraulic flow, and at least one hydraulic motor communicating with the hydraulic pump and arranged to the differential gear, capable of achieving a difference in rotational speed between the output shafts. The device is capable of regulating the hydraulic flow between the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic motor depending on the steering direction of the steering mechanism and the velocity of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6215677
Abstract: In a multi-phase AC/DC converter provided with an artificial neutral point a voltage sensing circuit is provided. The voltage sensing circuit comprises three small windings connected to a first common point and to three impedances. In the circuit, the voltage between the first common point of the windings and a second common point of the impedances is measured. The voltage is indicative of the current flowing in the artificial neutral point. By using such a circuit the current sensing in the neutral point can be simplified and the multi-phase AC/DC converter made at a lower cost.

  • Patent number: 5654626
Abstract: A boost-converter with low losses having a series connection of an energy storing main inductor and a main diode connected between a first input terminal for a first voltage and a first output terminal for a second, higher dc-voltage. The centre point between the components connected in series is, via a controllable switching element, connected to a common second input and output terminal. A control circuit for the switching element is provided to monitor the voltage of the first output terminal of the converter and to control the on and off operation of the switching element.

  • Patent number: 5085123
Abstract: A device used especially in a large caliber weapon for controlling the train of motion of an ammunition unit during the ramming thereof in the weapon, and of the case of the ammunition unit on firing of the gun includes an impact arrangement which upon ramming of the ammunition unit enter into interaction with and retard the ammunition unit. An energy storing device is chargeable through the impact with kinetic energy existing in the retarding ammunition unit. In response to energy transmitted from the energy storing device the closing of the breech block is activated. The breech block in the closed position retains the case of the ammunition unit during the firing and during a predetermined portion of the rearwardly directed movement in the gun effected on firing. The impact arrangement includes an impact member interactable with a flange on the case and displaceable in the longitudinal direction of the gun, and an impact spring means interactable with the impact member and with an impact piston.

  • Patent number: 4541472
Abstract: A system for stirring in continuous casting is formed by an inductive stirrer which inductively stirs molten metal in a continuously cast strand and at least one set of two water-cooling pipes positioned in front of the stirrer and having nozzles which eject water cooling-sprays against the strand. The two pipes have ends extending beyond the field and between their ends are electrically isolated from each other and the stirrer. By electrically interconnecting these ends outside of the field, the two pipes form a closed electric loop in which currents induced by the stirrers field cancel so that the net current flow is zero and the stirrer's field is not shielded from the strand.
