  • Publication number: 20160290974
Abstract: Examples of calculating a minimum pipe wall to determine a pipe wall failure probability are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a first acoustical sensor is connected to a pipe a distance from a second acoustical sensor connected to the pipe. A computing system is communicatively coupleable to the first and second acoustical sensors. The computing system calculates an average maximum pit depth value of a plurality of pits in an outer surface of a pipe wall of the pipe from a known initial pipe wall thickness value and an average present pipe wall thickness value. The computing system also calculates a minimum present pipe wall thickness by applying a statistical technique to the calculated average maximum pit depth value. The computing system determines a pipe wall failure probability based at least in part on the minimum present pipe wall thickness value.

  • Patent number: 9411888
Abstract: A hosted system provides any Internet user with the ability to quickly set up and customize a video channel, preferably as a web page or site that can be reached from any Internet-accessible device having a browser. The solution includes tools for use by channel site creators to customize look, feel, and page design. A particular web page or site may be associated with a given subject. A page or site that has such an association is sometimes referred to as “subject-specific.” Once a subject-specific channel is created, a site administrator or individual visitors can search and choose to bring those search results into the channel architecture. The system also enables a multiplatform search, and search results may be automatically populated into the channel content. The system enables the characterization of the material returned, preferably according to a user-generated taxonomy.

  • Publication number: 20160048612
Abstract: Systems and methods of generating and evaluating a habitat interior design are provided. Generating a conceptual habitat layout includes defining one or more habitat requirements, generating a plurality of physical subsystems and geometric dimensions of the physical subsystems based on the one or more habitat requirements, and assigning a spatial position to each of the plurality of physical subsystems. Evaluating the conceptual habitat layout includes identifying and quantifying a plurality of habitat constraints, determining a plurality of quantifiable habitat layout evaluation criteria and a plurality of utility functions, calculating the plurality of utility functions for the conceptual habitat layout, and calculating a acceptability value of the conceptual habitat layout based on the plurality of utility functions. A layout having a highest acceptability value is determined from a plurality of generated conceptual habitat layout and a file configured to provide a blueprint of the layout is created.

  • Publication number: 20150238139
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate generally to electrical and electronic hardware, computer software, wired and wireless network communications, and wearable computing devices for facilitating health and wellness-related information. More specifically, disclosed are wearable devices, interfaces, and methods to manage activities, including a sleep activity, responsive to physiological effect of a consumable. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving data representing an indication of consumption, and identifying an amount of a consumable portion. Also, the method includes receiving data representing a time of an event, and aggregating amounts of consumable portions to form an aggregated amount. A modified amount of the aggregated amount of the consumable portions can be determined, for example, as a function of a dissipation rate. The method can include predicting the modified amount at the time of the event, and causing presentation of a time at which a predicted amount conforms to the threshold value.
