  • Publication number: 20220163344
Abstract: The technology involves communicating the reachability status associated with an autonomous vehicle to a user such as a rider within the vehicle, a person awaiting pickup, or a customer that scheduled a package deliver. Reachability information about pickup and/or drop off locations is presentable via an app on a user device, which helps set expectations with customers about where the vehicle is most likely to be able to perform a pickup and/or drop off. This may include indicating how much variance there may be based on current congestion, parking or idling regulations, or weather conditions. The reachability information may be presented via one or more visualization tools to indicate the uncertainty and/or likely final location. Presenting such contextual information may be done based on real time information, and the presentation may be updated as needed. Historical information about the location may also be used to lower the level of uncertainty.

  • Publication number: 20220120581
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to providing an end of trip sequence when a vehicle is nearing its destination. One or more computing devices may generate and display a video indicating a projected trajectory of the vehicle and objects detected by sensors on the vehicle, on a map corresponding to a route the vehicle is currently following, where the video is generated from a perspective of a virtual camera at a default position and default pitch A determination that the vehicle has reached a threshold relative to the route of the vehicle may be made and the position and pitch of the virtual camera may be adjusted to an updated position above the vehicle and a perspective which looks downwards towards a roof of the vehicle. The video may then be generated and displayed from the perspective of the virtual camera at the updated position.

  • Publication number: 20210369683
Abstract: The disclosure provides methods of treating a patient having primary hyperoxaluria or idiopathic hyperoxaluria comprising administering a therapeutically effective amound of compound of the formula and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, and hydrates thereof to the patient. The variables, e.g. ring A, n, R, R3, R10, X, Y, and Z are defined herein. These compounds act as lactate dehydrogenase inhibitors and are useful inhibiting the conversion of glyoxylate to oxalate. When administered to a patient having a disease or disorder associated with elevated oxalate levels, such as PH type 1, type 2, or type 3 or idiopathic hyperoxaluria the compounds prevent or substantially reduce the amount and buildup of oxalate the patient's kidneys, bladder, urinary tract and other parts of the patient's body.

  • Patent number: 11135479
Abstract: Disclosed is an anchor for rock or similar material, and methods therefor. The anchor has a hinged base, which base consists of at least a pair of pivotally connected wings, the wings able to pivot about at least one longitudinal axis between, a first position in a closed state and a second position in an open state, the open state having a dimension between opposing parts of each wing that is greater than when in the closed state. A locking mechanism locks the wings in either the first position, or the second position. A connecting portion adapted to enable a load to be connected to the anchor connects to the hinged base, the connecting portion having a loading axis which is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. The anchor can be set between either the first position, or the second position, and then anchored to enable a load to be connected thereto.

  • Publication number: 20210196147
Abstract: Use of co values in smoking cessation are described where an apparatus may be configured to encourage smoking cessation in a user. The apparatus may include a sampling unit which receives a sample breath and determines a level of exhaled carbon monoxide from the sample breath. The sampling unit may be programmed to initiate a first timer for tracking a cumulative time upon a determination that the level of exhaled carbon monoxide is below a predetermined threshold. The sampling unit may also be programmed to initiate a second timer for tracking a countdown time upon a determination that the level of exhaled carbon monoxide is above the predetermined threshold, wherein the countdown time corresponds to a second length of time until the carbon monoxide level within the body of the user is expected to dissipate below the predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20210183247
Abstract: The technology includes communicating the current status of a self-driving vehicle to users, such as passengers within the vehicle and other users awaiting pickup. Certain information about the trip and vehicle status is communicated depending on where the passenger is sitting within the vehicle or where the person awaiting pickup is located outside the vehicle. This includes disseminating the “monologue” of a vehicle operating in an autonomous driving mode to a user via an app on the user's device (e.g., mobile phone, tablet or laptop PC, wearable, or other computing device) and/or an in-vehicle user interface. The monologue includes current status information regarding driving decisions and related operations or actions. This alerts the user as to why the vehicle is taking (or not taking) a certain action, which reduces confusion and allows the user to focus on other matters.

  • Patent number: 10066915
Abstract: A multi-purpose munition operates in either a blast mode or a fragmentation mode according to a user input. When operating in the fragmentation mode, a fuze initiates a main explosive fill of the munition which in turn disperses fragments formed from a fragmentation layer of the munition. When operating in a blast mode, prior to initiating the main explosive fill, the fuze initiates a secondary energetic layer which discards the fragmentation layer. The fuze then initiates the main explosive fill thereby producing a blast effect.
