  • Publication number: 20240152139
Abstract: A system and method for operation of an autonomous vehicle (AV) yard truck is provided. A processor facilitates autonomous movement of the AV yard truck, and connection to and disconnection from trailers. A plurality of sensors are interconnected with the processor that sense terrain/objects and assist in automatically connecting/disconnecting trailers. A server, interconnected, wirelessly with the processor, that tracks movement of the truck around and determines locations for trailer connection and disconnection. A door station unlatches/opens rear doors of the trailer when adjacent thereto, securing them in an opened position via clamps, etc. The system computes a height of the trailer, and/or if landing gear of the trailer is on the ground and interoperates with the fifth wheel to change height, and whether docking is safe, allowing a user to take manual control, and optimum charge time(s). Reversing sensors/safety, automated chocking, and intermodal container organization are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11963691
Abstract: A surgical instrument, has an end effector that includes an ultrasonic blade, and a clamp arm that moves relative to the ultrasonic blade from an opened position toward an intermediate position and a closed position. The clamp arm is offset from the ultrasonic blade to define a predetermined gap in the intermediate position between the opened position and the closed position. A clamp arm actuator connects to the clamp arm and moves from an opened configuration to a closed configuration to direct the clamp arm from the opened position toward the intermediate position and the closed position. A spacer connects with the clamp arm to inhibit movement of the clamp arm from the intermediate position toward the closed position for maintaining the predetermined gap between the clamp arm and the ultrasonic blade.

  • Publication number: 20240071593
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.

  • Publication number: 20230332753
Abstract: A nightlight including a base and an electrical prong secured to the base and adapted to be inserted into an electrical outlet is disclosed. A main circuit is coupled to the electrical prong and contained within the base. A plurality of light sources provide different colors of light in a visible light spectrum and a lens is secured to the base and positioned adjacent to the light sources. A sound transducer produces an electrical signal as a function of ambient sound and the main circuit is coupled to the sound transducer and the light sources for varying the color of light in the visible light spectrum that is produced by the light sources as a function of the ambient sound. The light sources may include light emitting diodes and laser diodes. The lens may include an image or cut-out positioned thereon so that the light sources project a pattern of light as a function of the image or cut-out.

  • Patent number: 11415281
Abstract: A flickering source of illumination is disclosed. A first, second and third group of LEDs and a control circuit are also disclosed. The control circuit is adapted to control a switch to selectively switch on the first group, the second group, and the third group of LEDs. The flickering source of illumination includes a translucent mineral positioned around the groups of LEDs. The translucent mineral is adapted to allow light emitted by the LEDs to pass through the translucent mineral and illuminate an area adjacent to the translucent mineral. The flickering source of illumination may include a first group of LEDs; a second group of LEDs; and a control circuit. The control circuit may be adapted to control a light output of the first and second groups of LEDs so that the first group of LEDs emits a different color of light than the second group of LEDs. The control circuit may be further adapted to selectively vary a color of the light output of the first group of LEDs and of the second group of LEDs.
