  • Publication number: 20150254732
Abstract: A responsive advertising system is described herein that provides a single responsive advertisement footprint that can work cross any screen size or ad placement and converge online and mobile advertising. Bringing together everything in a way to contain or include various formats or components in a common toolkit is presented for the first time herein. The system allows a given advertisement unit to be flexible enough to change size and shape to work across different publishing properties (e.g., website, mobile application, email, and so forth) in an efficient, optimizable, trackable, and universal way. Thus, the responsive advertising system allows advertisers to expand their reach to more device types while reducing administrative burden in managing multiple advertisements for cross-screen or channel delivery.

  • Patent number: 9051539
Abstract: Embodiments of algaculture systems to generate biofuel are herein provided. In one embodiment, an algaculture system includes a photo-bioreactor (PBR) including pump/tank assembly in communication with an input portion of a solar collector. The pump/tank assembly may act as a reservoir and/or agitator for a mixture of algae, water and nutrients (hereinafter, “algae media”) which mixture may be pumped into the solar collector. The solar collector may comprise a plurality of interconnected tubes (in various configurations) with a plurality of axial vortex flow generators positioned at an intake portion of each tube. Sensors, ports for input of nutrients and gasses, and ports for removal of gasses may be located in fittings between sections of tubing. An output portion of the solar collector may be in fluid communication with a continuous harvester which may redirect mature algae for processing thereof.

  • Publication number: 20150105267
Abstract: Methods of genome sequencing of a fetus are provided herein. In some embodiments, such methods include steps of predicting inheritance or transmission of an allele from one or more maternal-only heterozygous sites from a maternal genomic sequence to a fetal genome sequence; and predicting inheritance or transmission of an allele from one or more paternal-only heterozygous sites from a paternal genomic sequence to a fetal genome sequence. In some embodiments, the methods may also include predicting transmission of one or more genomic variants at one or more heterozygous sites that are present on both a maternal genomic sequence and a paternal genomic sequence. According to these embodiments, the paternal genomic sequence and the maternal genomic sequence are derived from a biological sample containing DNA. According to other embodiments, the sequencing methods may include a step of predicting de novo mutations in a fetal genomic sequence.

  • Publication number: 20140122255
Abstract: A responsive advertising system is described herein that provides an advertising solution for responsive, multi-screen website design. The system allows an advertisement to change based on events, actions of the user, or other criteria that the advertiser specifies, such that the actual content of the advertisement evolves in a kind of story line. If a user first accesses a website with an embedded advertisement on the user's desktop computer, the user may see a first version of the advertisement. If the user accesses the site again from the user's smartphone or other mobile device, then the system can serve a different version of the advertisement. Thus, the system provides an advertisement authoring and serving platform that allows for the creation of a new type of highly responsive advertisement that changes over time and across devices to tell a cohesive story and does so in a unified advertising unit format.

  • Publication number: 20100199197
Abstract: A selective transcoding system makes creating mobile versions of websites more automated with results closer to the look and feel of the original website and modified to account for mobile access patterns. The system gives control over the transcoding process to the content author with the result typically accessible through a standard URL. Selective transcoding employs a layer of customizable transcoding proxy servers between the source website and mobile users for improving the presentation of existing web content. Content authors can perform customization of the proxy through controls at selective transcoding web portal. When a mobile user visits the selective transcoding proxy, the user sees the blocks selected by the web designer updated with newest content and transcoded for the user's mobile device. Thus, the selective transcoding system provides a better mobile experience.

  • Publication number: 20080263584
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for initiating a bidirectional communications channel via an advertising interface. The apparatus includes a communications unit configured to send and receive data and a processing unit in communication with the communications unit. The processing unit is configured to cause advertising data to be transmitted to a communications device for output as a selectable advertising interface. The advertising data may include contact data for contacting an entity associated with the advertising data, such as an entity associated with content of the advertising data. The contact data may be configured such that selection of the advertising interface at the communications device automatically prompts initiation of a bidirectional communications channel between the communications device and the entity. Methods and computer program products for initiating a bidirectional communications channel via an advertising interface are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060282316
Abstract: An advertisement is stored locally on a memory of a device (such as a mobile station), and the device is used to display the advertisement on at least two distinct occasions. For each individual occasion, information concerning display of the advertisement by the device is stored locally. In response to a triggering condition, the information of the at least two occasions where the advertisement was displayed is sent in a single message to a network entity. Preferably, the information relates to a number of times, since the last such message was sent, that a particular advertisement was displayed, or selected by a user after being displayed, or both. The triggering condition may be a recurring or a non-recurring chronological event, a threshold number of times the advertisement was displayed or selected, or a request for the information from external of the device. A device, apparatus and computer program is also described.

  • Publication number: 20060190160
Abstract: A testing device allows a test engine (such as a single-cylinder test engine) to experience the air exchange characteristics of a multi-cylinder test engine having a greater number of cylinders. The test engine receives air from an air source (such as the atmosphere) through the interior passage of an air intake adapter, wherein valves on the passage walls separate the interior passage from a negative or positive pressure source. A processor (such as a computer) may actuate the valves to allow air to be pulled from the passage to simulate the effect of air intake into additional virtual cylinders (i.e., cylinders that would operate in tandem with the cylinder(s) of the test engine if the test engine had a greater number of cylinders), and/or to simulate the effect of forced air induction (i.e., turbocharging or supercharging).

  • Patent number: 6377686
Abstract: A cellular phone that includes a housing, a strap attachment means, and a hinge means. The strap attachment means includes a bar positioned external to the housing and a first arm and a second arm at opposite ends of the bar. The hinge means allows the bar to be rotatable relative to the housing. The hinge means includes a first hinge and a second hinge coupled to the first arm and the second arm respectively. The spacing between the arms and the bar is extendible from a first length to a second length greater than that between the first and second hinges to permit removal of the strap attachment means. The arms are detachable from the housing when the spacing is extended to the second length. By providing a strap attachment means that provides a bar external to the cellular phone housing, the present invention offers many auxiliary support options.
