  • Publication number: 20100089473
Abstract: A method of checking the operability of an actuator is provided. The actuator includes a control valve adjustable via an actuating drive by an actuating element, a position sensor detecting the actual position of the actuating element, and an electropneumatic position controller creating a pneumatic controlled variable depending on an actual position and a target position. The target position is provided to the actuating drive via an activated magnetic valve. The actuating element is moved over a section of an adjustment path for an execution of a partial-stroke test of the actuating element, the adjustment movement being detected. The magnetic valve is deactivated for a short time such that the actuating element is moved over only a section of the adjustment path. To facilitate the monitoring of the operability of the actuator, the partial-stroke test and the test of the magnetic valve are performed in a single test sequence.

  • Publication number: 20080316959
Abstract: In various embodiments of the present invention, methods are provided for transmitting scheduling requests over uplink channels. One embodiment includes determining whether a first resource for transmission of a scheduling request over an unscheduled uplink control channel is allocated concurrently with a second resource for transmission of user data over a scheduled uplink shared channel. This embodiment also includes encoding the user data and bit(s) of control information to form encoded information for transmission using the second resource. The additional bit(s) indicate whether the mobile unit is transmitting the scheduling request. Another embodiment includes determining whether a first resource for transmission of a scheduling request over an unscheduled uplink control channel is allocated concurrently with a second resource for transmission of other control information over the unscheduled uplink control channel.

  • Publication number: 20080232314
Abstract: This invention concerns a method of providing a VoIP connection through wireless communication links of a packet-based wireless communication system, and a corresponding base station and terminal. The wireless communication links comprise an uplink transmission path (2uc, 2us) from the terminal to the base station, and a downlink transmission path (2dc, 2ds) from the base station to the terminal. Each of the uplink and downlink transmission paths (2uc, 2us, 2dc, 2ds) have a control channel (2uc, 2dc) and at least one data channel (2us, 2ds). Control messages (20d, 21d, 220u, 221u, 230d, 250u, 260u) are generated for scheduling network resources and for suspending and/or re-issuing a persistent grant of network resources allocated to the VoIP connection.

  • Publication number: 20080232315
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of managing coexisting packet streams (100, 110) in a wireless communication system, and a corresponding controller and a mobile terminal. A first packet stream (110) of the coexisting packet streams (100, 110) requires transmission resources of the wireless communication system at fixed time intervals, and a second packet stream (100) of the coexisting packet streams (100, 110) requires transmission resources of the wireless communication system at dynamically determined time intervals. A schedule defining allocations of transmission resources for the first packet stream (110) is set up. A request for an initial grant of transmission resources for a transmission of a data packet (101) of the second packet stream (100) is issued.

  • Patent number: 7286706
Abstract: The present invention concerns a device for detecting and representing movements. The device includes a position sensor for detecting the current position of a reference point of the device, a data processor for processing the position data detected by the position sensor and a projector for projecting on a surface an image projection of the detected and processed position data. The data processor takes into account a modification in the current position of the reference point such that the projection image on the surface remains substantially stable concerning location and position.
