    Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method for use in a wireless receiver comprises determining a transport block size, TBS, for a transport block to be communicated between the wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver via a physical channel transmission. The TBS determination uses a formula accounting for cyclic redundancy check, CRC, bits. The method further comprises transmitting the transport block according to the determined TBS. In particular embodiments the formula is based on an approximate transport block size, a number of code blocks, at least one of a number of CRC bits attached to the transport block, and a number of CRC bits added to each of the C code blocks.

    Abstract: A movement system for use with an overhead patient lift system includes a motor. A drum is operatively coupled to the motor. The drum is configured to be selectively driven by the motor to rotate in one of a clockwise direction and a counter-clockwise direction. A lifting strap is coupled to the drum. The lifting strap is extendable and retractable with respect to a carriage of the overhead patient lifting system as the drum rotates. A manual release operatively coupled to the drum is actuatable to selectively disengage the drum from the motor to allow the lifting strap to be manually extended. Also disclosed is an overhead patient lift system including the movement system and a method for manually extending a lifting strap of an overhead patient lift system.

In some embodiments, the indication enables the wireless device to return an expected number of feedback information bits to the cellular communications network, particularly in a saturation where the wireless device misses one or more downlink assignments.

The new VN soft information is calculated based on the VN soft information and a new CN to VN message from a CN of the first layer to the VN and an old CN to VN message from the CN of the first layer to the VN such that the updating of new VN soft information is delayed by at least one layer. The fast layered decoding has lower decoding latency and utilizes the decoding hardware more efficiently than standard layered decoding techniques.
