An authoritative name server for a first domain name processes a received domain name query for the first domain name by obtaining one or more resource records associated with the first domain name. The one or more resource records comprise contact information associated with an entity associated with a second domain name. The authoritative name server transmits a response to the domain name query. The response comprises the one or more resource records. The first domain name includes the second domain name and at least one label following the second domain name.

Abstract: Modular synthetic receptors are provided. The synthetic receptors may include an extracellular domain capable of binding to one or more ligand molecules and may be released from the synthetic receptor after binding, a transmembrane domain derived from the Notch receptor, and an intracellular domain which may have one or more functional activities when released from the synthetic receptor. A method of use for the synthetic receptors is also provided, wherein upon binding of the extracellular domain to a specific ligand, the synthetic receptor undergoes proteolytic cleavage to release either or both the extracellular and intracellular domains. The extracellular binding domain, if released, may continue to bind to its cognate ligand and may carry one or more additional functional activities and the intracellular domain, if released, may stimulate or inhibit one or more intracellular activities.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments providing user authentication through registered device communications. An authentication request is received from a client device. A user is authenticated for access to a user account based at least in part on the client device providing the authentication token. The authentication token is generated by the client device or by one or more other computing devices and sent to the client device. The client device encrypts the authentication token based at least in part on a user authenticating factor and stores the encrypted authentication token on the client device.

Abstract: Automated apparatuses for use in examining gas sorption materials are described. Devices utilize a noncontact magnetic induction heating approach for controlling the temperature of tested materials. The apparatuses can be used to generate single or multiple isotherms simultaneously. The apparatuses can examine nanogram or microgram-scale quantities of materials of interest and can do so automatically and unattended. Pressure-composition isotherms can be provided through use of disclosed apparatuses in a period of a few hours.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed relate to a buffered aqueous solution. The buffered aqueous solution includes a buffer. The buffer includes a citrate component having a concentration in the solution in a range of from about 0.1 mM to about 600 mM. The buffer further includes a metal component having a concentration in the solution in a range of from about 0.01 mM to about 100 mM. The buffered aqueous solution has a pH in a range of from about 5 to about 9.

Abstract: A surgical access system includes a connector including an arm, a coupling element, a rod, and a ridged slider. The arm includes first and second notched sections disposed in opposed lateral sides thereof. The coupling element includes a body section defining an opening therethrough, and opposed tabs protruding therefrom that are configured to receive the second notched section therebetween such that the arm is pivotably coupled to the coupling element. The rod includes a shaft having a plurality of angled grooves defined partially along a length thereof. The rod extends through the opening of the coupling element and the first notched section of the arm. The ridged slider includes a first surface having a plurality of ridges extending along a partial length thereof. The ridged slider extends through the coupling element with the plurality of ridges operably engaged with the plurality of angled grooves of the rod.

Abstract: A pump includes a pump body having an admission valve movable therein to alternately block and unblock a valve seat to connect a low pressure space to a pumping chamber. A control valve is positioned fluidly between a control chamber and the low pressure space, and moves between a closed position where the control chamber receives high pressure for hydraulically actuating the admission valve, and an open position where the control chamber is connected to the low pressure space to enable closing of the admission valve. The pilot actuation of the admission valve produces a greater travel distance and efficiency than what might be available with certain other actuating mechanisms.

Abstract: The present invention describes a bio-based process to produce high quality protein concentrate (HQPC) by converting plant derived celluloses into bioavailable protein via aerobic incubation, including the use of such HQPC so produced as a nutrient, including use as a fish meal replacement in aquaculture diets.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of forming a cast component and a method of forming a casting mold. The method is performed by connecting at least one wax gate component to a ceramic core-shell mold. The ceramic core-shell mold includes at least a filter, first core portion, a first shell portion, and at least one first cavity between the core portion and the first shell portion. The core-shell mold may manufactured using an additive manufacturing process and may include an integrated ceramic filter. At least a portion of the ceramic core-shell mold and the wax gate component is coated with a second ceramic material. The wax gate component is then removed to form a second cavity in fluid communication with the first cavity.

Abstract: Techniques are described for white balancing an input image by determining a color transformation for the input image based on color transformations that have been computed for training images whose color characteristics are similar to those of the input image. Techniques are also described for generating a training dataset comprising color information for a plurality of training images and color transformation information for the plurality of training images. The color information in the training dataset is searched to identify a subset of training images that are most similar in color to the input image. The color transformation for the input image is then computed by combining color transformation information for the identified training images. The contribution of the color transformation information for any given training image to the combination can be weighted based on the degree of color similarity between the input image and the training image.

Abstract: The invention relates to retention systems for retaining items during use of a mobility chair. According to one embodiment, a mobility chair includes a frame, wheels and a seat; and an item retention system including one or more retractable straps such that when, in use, a user is positioned on the seat, the one or more retractable straps are arranged to be extended and secured to retain one or more items positioned on the user's lap or on the seat in front of the user. A related method of retaining an item or items on the user's lap is also described.

Abstract: A cleaning nozzle includes an outer housing having a central axis and an inner surface that defines an outer housing interior. An inner housing resides within the outer housing interior along the central axis and has an inner surface that defines an inner flow channel. The inner flow channel supports flow of the cleaning fluid and has a converging taper and a flow disrupter element. The nozzle assembly may include an adapter that receives a front end of the nozzle and that also holds a ferrule that supports an optical fiber having an end face. The nozzle assembly allows the nozzle to direct a jet stream of cleaning fluid to the ferrule end face and the fiber end face. The flow disrupter causes the jet stream to have a time-varying direction that enhances the cleaning of the ferrule end face and the optical fiber end face.

Abstract: A mold system and method for forming a casting article for investment casting is disclosed. The mold system includes a mold for receiving therein a selected core chosen from a plurality of varied cores. The mold includes a plurality of separable mold portions that are coupleable together to create the mold and configured to form a sacrificial material from a sacrificial material fluid about the selected core. At least one selected separable mold portion of the plurality of separable mold portions includes a set of varied interchangeable versions of the at least one selected separable mold portion. Each varied interchangeable version of the selected separable mold portion is configured to accommodate a different core of the plurality of varied cores. A number of systems for controlling a temperature of the mold are also disclosed.

A persona management system generates a searchable data store containing metadata related to a plurality of users of the persona management system. The metadata includes entries indicating: a first identifier of a user of the plurality of users of the persona management system, a second identifier of an external data provider of a plurality of external data providers that possess data related to users of the persona management system, a third identifier of an algorithm that is used to transform data possessed by the external data provider related to the user of the persona management system into one or more transformed data values, and the one or more transformed data values. In response to requests from various data consumers, the persona management system uses the metadata to identify users matching specified search criteria.
