  • Publication number: 20120271699
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide for allocating loyalty rewards to a customer in advance of the customer earning the reward based at least in part on historical purchasing performance. For example, in accordance with embodiments of the invention, the customer/participant is rewarded (e.g., provided rewards points or bestowed another reward) at the onset of a year based on the previous year's purchasing behavior/program participation, and as the customer/participant transacts throughout the ensuing year the purchases/transactions are decremented against the reward.

  • Publication number: 20120167236
Abstract: The present invention is directed to the production, breeding and use of transgenic non-human animals such as mice in which specific genes or portions of genes have been replaced by homologues from another animal to make the physiology of the animals so modified more like that of the other animal with respect to drug pharmacokinetics and metabolism. The invention also extends to the use of the genetically modified non-human animals of the invention for pharmacological and/or toxicological studies.

  • Publication number: 20120155731
Abstract: A method, computer program product and processor for quantitatively registering a 2D endoscopic ROI in a 3D volumetric imaging dataset. An endoscopic dataset and a volumetric imaging are registered to a common coordinate system. A 2D endoscopic ROI is generated within the endoscopic imaging dataset. A 3D surface ROI is generated within the volumetric imaging dataset corresponding to the 2D endoscopic ROI, based on a projection of the 2D endoscopic ROI to the registered common coordinate system.

  • Patent number: 8122216
Abstract: Computer memory management systems and methods are provided in which data block buffering and priority scheduling protocols are utilized in compressed memory systems to mask the latency associated with memory reorganization work following access to compressed main memory. In particular, data block buffers and priority scheduling protocols are implemented to delay and prioritize memory reorganization work to allow resources to be used for serving new memory access requests and other high priority commands.

  • Publication number: 20110216465
Abstract: An electromagnetic system consists of an electric circuit comprising two solenoids wired in series, one mounted either side and proximate to a toroid. Voltage is applied across the toroid and the solenoids in a specific sequence which alters the inductance behaviour of the system, resulting in an inductance gain and no mutual inductance between the toroid and the two solenoids.

  • Publication number: 20100274658
Abstract: A computer system enables a financial institution to award an account reward points when a customer remits a payment in a timely basis. Consequently, the financial institution encourages repayment of debt and recognizes good behavior through reward points every time a payment is received on-time. Each time a customer pays on-time, a credit card company may assign reward points to the customer's account for the amount of the payment. When a payment for a loan has been received in accordance with a reward policy, a number of reward points may be awarded to a customer that is dependent on a payment amount. For example, when the payment amount is at least as great as a minimum due and not greater than a balance due, setting the number of reward points to a constant multiplied by the payment amount. However, the reward points may be determined in a non-linear fashion.
