  • Patent number: 6386646
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system with anti-lock control comprises a main cylinder connected to a reservoir, wheel brakes connected to the main cylinder by way of brake lines, and a recirculating pump, a suction side of which is connected to the wheel brakes by way of a first suction line. By way of a second suction line, the pump is connected to a pressure source. To control the pressure medium supply from a precharging device or other pressure source to the suction side of the recirculating pump as a function of the pressure in the second suction line, a hydraulically actuated valve is used. The inlet of the valve is connected to the precharging device via the pressure source, the outlet of the valve is connected to the suction side of the recirculating pump. The output pressure of the valve acts in a valve closing direction such that the valve closes once a pressure on the suction side of the recirculating pump exceeds a certain value.

  • Publication number: 20020050738
Abstract: The recirculating pumps of brake systems that are equipped with a precharging device or other pressure sources, the pressure of which at least temporarily reaches the suction side of the recirculating pump, are highly stressed and consequently subjected to premature wear by this pressure. Over time, this results in large leaks which may cause damage to the pump motors. Consequently, the invention proposes to control the pressure medium supply from the precharging device or other pressure source to the suction side of the recirculating pump as a function of the pressure in this connecting line.

  • Patent number: 6221981
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for preparing a highly active solid metallocene-containing catalyst system and its use in the polymerization of olefins. The catalyst system is prepared by creating a catalyst system solution by combining an aluminoxane with a metallocene having a substituent which has olefinic unsaturation in a suitable liquid to form a liquid catalyst system, conducting prepolymerization of an olefin in the liquid catalyst system, and separating the resulting solid metallocene-containing catalyst system from the reaction mixture. Also polymerization of olefins using the inventive solid catalyst system is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5979210
Abstract: A drawing device for a press is provided with a drawing slide, with a sheet holder having a sheet held therein, and with a pressure cheek which is arranged under the sheet holder and is connected with a piston rod which can be displaced in parallel to the drawing direction. The piston rod is operatively connected with a preacceleration piston of a preacceleration cylinder. The drawing cylinders are applied to the pressure cheek by way of drawing rods, in which case the drawing cylinders have drawing pistons with first and second piston spaces. The first piston space directed to the drawing rod is pressure controlled during the drawing operation for the sheet forming. In the event of a press stoppage during a sheet forming, a control valve device can be activated so that, for maintaining the pressure existing in the first piston space at the start of the press stoppage during the time of the press stoppage, pressure medium can be charged into the first piston space by way of a pressure medium generator.

  • Patent number: 5736643
Abstract: A monitoring system for representing vibration conditions of a multiplicity of blades on a rotating disc in a turbomachine includes at least one sensor which is associated with the disc and which is connected to a pulse generator that delivers sensor pulses which respectively mark an instant at which a blade passes the sensor, a mark pick-up which always delivers a mark pulse when the disc is in a certain zero position, and an analysis device. The latter has an allocation module which takes account of the mark pulses and associates each sensor pulse with the blade which has caused it when passing a sensor. The allocation module calculates vibration data from the associated sensor pulses, which characterize the vibration conditions of the blade. A memory module has access to a working memory to which the vibration data are supplied and the memory module stores the vibration data in the working memory.

  • Patent number: 5725301
Abstract: An earthquake detection device with an innovative mechanism capable of sensing vibrations. The device is an open electrical circuit that, when triggered by sufficient vibration, becomes a closed circuit, thus enabling a variety of electrical appliances. The inner mechanism of the present invention works much like a conventional pulley. A weighted object, when agitated by sufficient vibration, causes a balance beam to fall out of a delicate equilibrium, thereby causing a hammer to fall on two receptacles which carry the electrical circuit, thus closing the circuit and enabling the electrical appliances.
