  • Patent number: 10865807
Abstract: A compressor rotor for a gas turbine engine is described which includes sets of blades having different airfoil thickness distributions, each including a frequency modifier forming a thickness differential relative to a baseline blade thickness. The frequency modifiers provide different natural vibration frequencies for each of the blades, and facilitate modifying natural vibration frequency separation between adjacent blades of the compressor rotor.

  • Publication number: 20200334224
Abstract: A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability.

  • Publication number: 20200174503
Abstract: Methods for drone-assisted inspection of aircraft and other large, mobile structures are disclosed. The drone's camera identifies the mobile structure and an inspection routine is selected from available inspection routines. A flight plan is retrieved from a database corresponding to a portion of the identified mobile structure and comprising instructions to visit positions in three-dimensional space corresponding to the points of the structure identified for inspection in the inspection routine. The drone is operated according to the retrieved flight plan and at one or more of the positions visited, data indicative of the condition of corresponding point of the structure is captured. Points of the structure where the condition of the structure appears sub-optimal are identified and their coordinates saved. On completion of the inspection, one of more points identified as sub-optimal is revisited and a further, more detailed inspection is performed under the control of an operator.

  • Patent number: 10625337
Abstract: A 3D printer includes a build plate providing a surface on which an object is printed. Prior to printing, a sheet is fixed to the surface of the build plate. The sheet is composed of a material that adheres to a binder component of the feedstock used to print the object. During printing, the first layer of the printed object forms a bond with the sheet, which secures the location of the first layer and resists movement of the object during printing. Following printing and the object gaining sufficient rigidity, the object and sheet can be removed together from the printer. The sheet may then be peeled from the object, and the object can undergo debinding and/or sintering to create a finished object.

  • Publication number: 20200106765
Abstract: A permissions management system is disclosed for enabling a user to securely authorize a third-party system to access user account data and initiate transactions related to a user account, without disclosing to the third-party system account credentials. The system enables the user to also securely de-authorize the third-party system. For example, records may be automatically generated that securely store account information, including one or more permissions related to the account and/or the third-party. A token associated with a record may be shared with the third-party system, but neither the record itself, nor the user account credentials, may be shared with the third-party. Accordingly, the third-party may request user account data and/or initiate transactions by providing the token, but does not itself know, e.g., the user account credentials. Further, the user may set various permissions related to the token, and may also revoke the token (e.g.
