Abstract: A method for generating and managing logical units (LUNs) in a storage network environment is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, such a method includes determining a type of LUN, identifying one or more servers that will access the LUN, and identifying a storage system that will host the LUN. The method then generates a LUN name that encapsulates the type, the one or more servers, and the storage system. The method then assigns the LUN name to the LUN. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: Apparatus for use with a plurality of beverage containers is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a cradle for each of said plurality of containers and, for and secured to each cradle, at least a pair of resilient tabs. Each cradle, in use, supports the container for which it is provided in the manner in which a clay wine cooler supports a wine bottle. The cradles are operatively secured to one another in use to define a tote for transporting said containers. The tabs for each cradle, in use, collectively stabilize the container supported by said each cradle. The cradles can have stepped bases to accommodate containers of varying girth.

Abstract: An x-ray tube includes a cathode and a target assembly positioned to receive electrons emitted from the cathode. The target assembly includes a target, and a spiral groove bearing (SGB) configured to support the target. The SGB includes a rotatable component having a first surface and a first material attached to the first surface, a stationary component having a second surface and a second material attached to the second surface, the stationary component positioned such that a gap is formed between the first material and the second material, and a liquid metal positioned in the gap, wherein at least one of the first and second materials comprises tantalum.

Abstract: A system and method for purifying an aqueous contaminated fluid from colloidal contaminants using a closed-loop feedback control system are disclosed. Contaminated fluid flows into a mixer and mixed with a purifying agent, such as diatomaceous earth, to facilitate metathesis reaction between the purifying agent and the contaminants. The purifying agent entraps the contaminants, and is subsequently removed in a separator into sediments. An estimation of the amount of the purifying agent to dispense is performed using pre-defined equations or look-up tables stored in the database, including relationship between the concentration of contaminants in the fluid and the concentration of the added purifying agent. An automated feedback control is applied to fine tune the purification process into compliance with regulations. High accuracy of measurements is ensured by selecting the same material for both the purifying agent and the trapping medium of analyzers, and additionally by the design of the analyzers.

Abstract: An assembly for rapid loading and feeding of paintballs in a paintball marker comprises a receiver mountable on the marker, having an opening to receive and secure a magazine carrying paintballs, and a gate opening mechanism to open the magazine, releasing the paintballs. An ejection mechanism to clear a magazine from the opening may also be provided. The magazine comprises a resiliently biased gate mechanism to protect the paintballs until the magazine is inserted into the receiver. The magazine may be opened to refill it with paintballs, and may be disassembled for cleaning or maintenance.

Abstract: A method of gaming including: selecting in each game round a plurality of symbols for display to a player in a set of display positions arranged in a plurality of rows and columns, subsets of the display positions corresponding to respective ones of a plurality of reels, each reel comprising a plurality symbols; controlling the correspondence of display positions to reels so that at least one game round is a diagonal spin game round in which at least one of the reels is arranged to spin diagonally such that it corresponds to display positions in a plurality of neighbouring columns; determining an outcome for each game round based on the selected symbols.

Sequential offers are made to the qualified service providers in ranked order until an offer is accepted.

One or more wireless sensors are attached to the animal, for example, to measure motion-related parameter associated with one or more parts of the animal. Sensor data is received from the sensors and processed to identify a characteristic of the motion of the animal, such as a quality of gait. This approach improves the effectiveness of one or more of evaluation, diagnosis, care conditioning or monitoring of animals because it does not require use of restrictive equipment such as force plates or treadmills, and it can provide objective and quantitative data that is complete, accurate, precise and reproducible, and this data can be obtained under real-world conditions, for either or both of more or less real-time or continuous processing of data to perform the monitoring or diagnosis. That is, in such an approach objective and quantitative data can be collected under real-world conditions and this data can be processed and the information can be displayed in a form that is familiar to experts in real-time locally, or can be stored for subsequent retrieval or transmitted for remote review.

Abstract: A method and system for automatically prioritizing a plurality of customer requirements. A request for fulfilling a product-modifying customer requirement is received. Prioritization data associated with the customer requirement is obtained. The prioritization data includes revenue opportunity sizes, time constraints, the request's age, and indications of whether the product requires an operating system included in a predefined strategic operating system list and whether revenue associated with a business opportunity is lost if the request is rejected. Component scores for customer requirement-related variables are determined by evaluating formulas that include the variables. Evaluating the formulas includes applying weights to the variables and substituting the prioritization data for the variables. A priority score for prioritizing the customer requirement relative to other customer requirements is automatically determined by summing the component scores.
