Abstract: A anode for use in a lithium ion battery is composed of an electrode substrate, a paste distributed on the electrode substrate and comprising a plurality of Si, Ge, or SiGe nanocrystals intercalated with lithium ions, and a binder mixed with the paste to adhere the paste to the electrode substrate. The lithiated anode paste may be formed by an electrodeposition process or an electrolytic process.

Abstract: This invention pertains to recombinant AsCpf1 and LbCpf1 nucleic acids and polypeptides for use in CRISPR/Cpf1 endonuclease systems and mammalian cell lines encoding recombinant AsCpf1 or LbCpf1 polypeptides. The invention includes recombinant ribonucleoprotein complexes and CRSPR/Cpf1 endonuclease systems having a suitable AsCpf1 crRNA is selected from a length-truncated AsCpf1 crRNA, a chemically-modified AsCpf1 crRNA, or an AsCpf1 crRNA comprising both length truncations and chemical modifications. Methods of performing gene editing using these systems and reagents are also provided.

Abstract: A check valve for a fluid distribution system can include a valve body defining a valve inner cavity defining a valve bore extending from a first axial end to a second axial end; a position block secured to the valve body and defining a pivot bore; a pivot pin positioned within the valve body and extending through the pivot bore of the position block; and a valve member positioned within the valve body and configured to rotate about the pivot pin from an open position to a closed position, the valve member configured to remain in the open position as long as a fluid in the fluid distribution system is moving in a positive flow direction of the check valve, the valve member further configured to close when the fluid is moving in a negative flow direction of the check valve.

Abstract: Methods and systems for processing events are disclosed. According to one embodiment, input source data that includes event data of one or more events is received. One or more event definitions that match the event data are selected. For each matching event definition, the event definition is inputted into a template to generate a set of events. The template includes a number of assertions and has the event definition as one of the assertions, where each assertion includes a constraint. The constraints of the assertions are progressively processed to produce one or more solutions that are subsets of the set of events. For each constraint and each solution, a set of target events that is viable for the solution is identified, and a new solution is produced based on the solution and the identified set of target events, whereby a set of new solutions is produced.

Abstract: An embodiment provides a user equipment that includes a processor configured to receive a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) NOTIFY message transmitted by a network component as a result of a registration event. The SIP NOTIFY message contains at least a portion of information included in a first SIP message sent between a first user equipment and the network component. Another embodiment provides method and apparatus for a network node to determine whether filter criteria include one or more indicators that specify the need for information, and including in a second SIP message the information specified by the one or more indicators.

Abstract: A method and devices for handling crossed-invite situations in set-up of IP-based sessions. A local device receives an incoming session invite after sending an outgoing session invite before the outgoing session invite has been accepted. It then determines that the incoming session invite was sent by the remote device to which the outgoing session invite is also addressed. The method includes determining a remote device priority value from identifying information contained in the incoming session invite, comparing the remote device priority value with a local device priority value to determine whether the remote device or the local device is higher priority and, if the remote device is higher priority, canceling the outgoing session invite and displaying an incoming call answer screen for the incoming session invite, and if the local device is higher priority, waiting for cancelation of the incoming session invite and acceptance of the outgoing session invite.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for stimulating (e.g., noninvasively) a subject's inflammatory reflex are provided to reduce bleed time. The method may include the step of non-invasively stimulating the inflammatory reflex (e.g., the vagus nerve, the splenic nerve, the hepatic nerve, the facial nerve, and the trigeminal nerve) of a subject, such as by mechanical stimulation, in a manner which significantly reduces bleed time in the subject. Devices for non-invasively stimulating the inflammatory reflex may include a movable tip or actuator that is controlled to mechanically stimulate the ear. The devices may be hand-held or wearable, and may stimulate the cymba conchae region of the subject's ear.

A waveguide overlaps and delivers light to the near-field transducer. Two subwavelength focusing mirrors are at an end of the waveguide proximate the media-facing surface. The subwavelength mirrors are on opposite crosstrack sides of the near-field transducer and separated from each other by a crosstrack gap. The subwavelength focusing mirrors each include a first material at the media-facing surface and a liner that covers an edge of the mirror.

Example commercial crediting apparatus disclosed herein compare first identification information and first timing information obtained from a first monitored data feed with second identification information and second timing information in a second monitored data feed to identify a first final distributor code represented in the second monitoring data feed, the first identification information and the first timing information corresponding to a first commercial represented in the first monitored data feed. Disclosed example apparatus also access data that maps a first original distributor code to the first final distributor code, identify the first commercial in lineup data based on the first original distributor code, and adjust, based on a duration of the first commercial, a duration obtained for a first media program listed in the lineup data.
