  • Patent number: 10315730
Abstract: An anchor comprises a substantially non-conducting housing including a series of collet apertures; flexible strands; collets; and a water bed engaging part. Each collet is adapted to engage one of the flexible strands and secure it in a respective one of the collet apertures of the housing. The anchor formed such that when it is in use the water bed engaging part can be located on the bed of a body of water with the strands extending upwards for use in securing an item at or near the surface of the water, the strands being able to expand and contract lengthwise to resist breaking due to pulling of the item.

  • Patent number: 10293500
Abstract: An attachment for use with a conventional barber's clipper or trimmer includes a base plate having a front edge, a rear edge and a pair of opposing side edges. Extending from the front edge of the base plate is at least one central tooth disposed between and spaced from a pair of outer teeth. In at least one embodiment, the central tooth is wider than the outer tooth to create a unique hairstyle. Formed between each outer tooth and the central tooth is a channel that extends to the clipper's cutting blade. Extending from a distal end of each tooth are a pair of elongated, spaced tines that form a U-shaped slot for collecting and bundling a significant portion of hair to isolate it from the cutting blade.

  • Patent number: 10216742
Abstract: A system and method for converting data sets. The method includes providing a data provider device (DPD) and a controller communicably coupled to one another. The controller or an interface device between the controller and the DPD includes a processor that is connected to a memory device which stores a data converter program. The memory device stores an earlier in time descriptive data set having an earlier data set format and a different later in time descriptive data set having a later data set format. The data converter program determines if a format associated with a received DPD data set is the later data set format. In response to determining that a data set format associated with the received DPD data set is the later data set format, the received DPD data set is converted into a converted data set that has the earlier data set format.

  • Publication number: 20180309577
Abstract: Systems and methods for improving password security are proposed. A password entered by a user of an electronic device is hashed with a hash instructions to create a digest. The digest is then obfuscated in accordance with the methods disclosed herein by rearranging the bits comprising the digest, to create an obfuscated digest. The obfuscated digest may then be used to authenticate the user. This method decreases the likelihood of hacking or malicious interference.

  • Publication number: 20180296746
Abstract: A system for detecting whether a vascular access has been interrupted in an arrangement in which two catheters or needles are present in a blood vessel, fistula or graft. A fluid line leading to a pump is connected via a first connector to a first indwelling catheter, and a fluid line leading from a pump is connected via a second connector to a second indwelling catheter. Each connector is equipped with an electrode in contact with the lumen of the connector, the electrodes electrically connected to an electronic circuit that measures the impedance or conductivity of fluid between the first connector and second connectors via a fluid path through the blood vessel, fistula or graft. An electronic controller receives the impedance or conductivity data and processes the data to determine whether a vascular access disconnection has occurred.

  • Patent number: 10078316
Abstract: A method of configuring actual Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) into a substation automation system (SAS) of a power system that runs a substation process. An IED data repository stores IED information including a plurality of logical node classes (LNs), where each LN includes a plurality of data objects as LN type definitions that represent at least bay level functions including control and monitoring outputs from the primary devices or protecting the primary devices. Using an LN type generator, selection of LNs is performed from the plurality of LNs based on functions for implementing at least one single line diagram (selected LNs) that represents the SAS. From the selected LNs a pre-configured IED strategy is generated to represent at a first actual IED to control and automate the substation process in a format understood by the SAS. The pre-configured IED strategy is saved into the IED data repository.
