  • Publication number: 20180008995
Abstract: A repeatable manufacturing process uses a printer to deposits liquid for each product carried by a substrate to form respective thin films. The liquid is dried, cured or otherwise processed to form from the liquid a permanent layer of each respective product. To perform printing, each newly-introduced substrate is roughly mechanically aligned, with an optical system detecting sub-millimeter misalignment, and with software correcting for misalignment. Rendering of adjusted data is performed such that nozzles are variously assigned dependent on misalignment to deposit droplets in a regulated manner, to ensure precise deposition of liquid for each given area of the substrate. For example, applied to the manufacture of flat panel displays, software ensures that exactly the right amount of liquid is deposited for each “pixel” of the display, to minimize likelihood of visible discrepancies in the resultant display.

  • Publication number: 20170232924
Abstract: A firing mechanism (25) for activation of a pneumatic stored energy system having a motor (50) connected to a vessel (20) by a tether, the vessel (20) containing a pressurised fluid. Activation of the motor (50) causes the tether to wind, applying a linear force to an attachment region of the vessel, fracturing the vessel (20) to release the pressurised fluid thereby activating the pneumatic stored energy system.

  • Publication number: 20170060882
Abstract: A system and method for converting data sets. The method includes providing a data provider device (DPD) and a controller communicably coupled to one another. The controller or an interface device between the controller and the DPD includes a processor that is connected to a memory device which stores a data converter program. The memory device stores an earlier in time descriptive data set having an earlier data set format and a different later in time descriptive data set having a later data set format. The data converter program determines if a format associated with a received DPD data set is the later data set format. In response to determining that a data set format associated with the received DPD data set is the later data set format, the received DPD data set is converted into a converted data set that has the earlier data set format.

  • Publication number: 20170063085
Abstract: A method of configuring actual Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) into a substation automation system (SAS) of a power system that runs a substation process. An IED data repository stores IED information including a plurality of logical node classes (LNs), where each LN includes a plurality of data objects as LN type definitions that represent at least bay level functions including control and monitoring outputs from the primary devices or protecting the primary devices. Using an LN type generator, selection of LNs is performed from the plurality of LNs based on functions for implementing at least one single line diagram (selected LNs) that represents the SAS. From the selected LNs a pre-configured IED strategy is generated to represent at a first actual IED to control and automate the substation process in a format understood by the SAS. The pre-configured IED strategy is saved into the IED data repository.

  • Patent number: 9578046
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein relate to storing values, such as sketches, that represent time indexed data related to network traffic. The model may be indexed by multiple sets of keys and time range values. It is an advantage that the index is essentially repeated for different time intervals. Utilization of the sketches avoids prohibitively large amounts of network traffic from overwhelming the monitoring computing device(s). Further, the probabilistic representative accuracy of the sketches is dynamically configurable. The time indexed data may represent data traffic on a computer network. The time indexed data may be data packets sent on the network. In one or more embodiments the time indexed data may be sketches that represent and/or approximate the data packets. Further, it is contemplated herein that the accuracy of the sketches' representation may be dynamically configurable.

  • Patent number: 9558682
Abstract: A seal housing body, extruded AL or molded plastic or metal, has cavity portions communicating through an interface region formed by one at least one frangible projection protruding from the first body into the cavity, a first cavity portion for receiving a locking body, the second cavity portion forming a shackle receiving passageway. The locking body has a channel inclined relative to and in communication with the passageway. A spring in the channel urges a shackle locking ball up the channel partially into the interface region, the ball, having a diameter sufficient to pass through the passageway, is captured in the channel by the at least one projection. The locking body has indicia and/or flanges, at one or both opposing ends, to provide tampering evidence. The channel is offset from the locking body's central plane forming a single channel side wall to preclude trapping the ball by tampering.

  • Publication number: 20160239025
Abstract: A valved manifold module is disclosed, constructed and arranged to be readily connected in a chain with similar modules to form a manifold assembly. The modular nature of the apparatus allows for convenient expansion or modification of the manifold assembly to suit any application that comprises a group of pneumatically or hydraulically driven pumps, valves or combinations thereof in a liquid flow control apparatus. The valved manifold module in an example can be configured to accept a group of four substantially identical valve assemblies, and can be controlled by a local controller mounted to the manifold module, thus forming an independently programmable valved manifold module. The resulting modular system is readily expandable to allow for coordinated operations of a liquid flow control system, using substantially independent controller functions originating at the manifold assembly level.
