  • Publication number: 20160030658
Abstract: A system for detecting whether a vascular access has been interrupted in an arrangement in which two catheters or needles are present in a blood vessel, fistula or graft. A fluid line leading to a pump is connected via a first connector to a first indwelling catheter, and a fluid line leading from a pump is connected via a second connector to a second indwelling catheter. Each connector is equipped with an electrode in contact with the lumen of the connector, the electrodes electrically connected to an electronic circuit that measures the impedance or conductivity of fluid between the first connector and second connectors via a fluid path through the blood vessel, fistula or graft. An electronic controller receives the impedance or conductivity data and processes the data to determine whether a vascular access disconnection has occurred.

  • Publication number: 20150344172
Abstract: A slide and pour container blank and method of assembly. The initially assembled slide and pour container can be in a sealed state with no access to the interior of the container. A detachable cover can include a tear strip that is removed to provide access to a slidable door. The slidable door can be detached from its guide track and can slide within its guide track. The slidable door can open and block a passageway providing access to the interior of the container, such as to dispense contents of the container.

  • Publication number: 20150298153
Abstract: A repeatable manufacturing process uses a printer to deposits liquid for each product carried by a substrate to form respective thin films. The liquid is dried, cured or otherwise processed to form from the liquid a permanent layer of each respective product. To perform printing, each newly-introduced substrate is roughly mechanically aligned, with an optical system detecting sub-millimeter misalignment, and with software correcting for misalignment. Rendering of adjusted data is performed such that nozzles are variously assigned dependent on misalignment to deposit droplets in a regulated manner, to ensure precise deposition of liquid for each given area of the substrate. For example, applied to the manufacture of flat panel displays, software ensures that exactly the right amount of liquid is deposited for each “pixel” of the display, to minimize likelihood of visible discrepancies in the resultant display.

  • Publication number: 20150156213
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein relate to storing values, such as sketches, that represent time indexed data related to network traffic. The model may be indexed by multiple sets of keys and time range values. It is an advantage that the index is essentially repeated for different time intervals. Utilization of the sketches avoids prohibitively large amounts of network traffic from overwhelming the monitoring computing device(s). Further, the probabilistic representative accuracy of the sketches is dynamically configurable. The time indexed data may represent data traffic on a computer network. The time indexed data may be data packets sent on the network. In one or more embodiments the time indexed data may be sketches that represent and/or approximate the data packets. Further, it is contemplated herein that the accuracy of the sketches' representation may be dynamically configurable.

  • Patent number: 8783106
Abstract: An accelerometer includes a proof mass and a frame that are formed in a handle layer of a silicon-on-an-insulator (SOI). The proof mass is separated from the frame by a back-side trench that defines a boundary of the proof mass. The accelerometer also includes a reflector coupled to a top surface of the proof mass. An optical detector is located above the reflector at the device side. The accelerometer further includes at least one suspension spring. The suspension spring has a handle anchor that extends downwards from the device side to the handle layer to mechanically support upward and downward movement of the proof mass relative to a top surface of the proof mass.

  • Publication number: 20130200637
Abstract: A seal housing body, extruded AL or molded plastic or metal, has cavity portions communicating through an interface region formed by one at least one frangible projection protruding from the first body into the cavity, a first cavity portion for receiving a locking body, the second cavity portion forming a shackle receiving passageway. The locking body has a channel inclined relative to and in communication with the passageway. A spring in the channel urges a shackle locking ball up the channel partially into the interface region, the ball, having a diameter sufficient to pass through the passageway, is captured in the channel by the at least one projection. The locking body has indicia and/or flanges, at one or both opposing ends, to provide tampering evidence. The channel is offset from the locking body's central plane forming a single channel side wall to preclude trapping the ball by tampering.

  • Patent number: 8386072
Abstract: A filler product supply system (5) and method using two or more conduits (120, 130) to deliver filler product under pressure from product reservoirs (200, 210) to in fluid isolation to a supply manifold (58). Filler product is further delivered in fluid isolation from supply manifold (58) through conduits (170, 171) to two or more filling heads (180, 190). Downstream from filling heads (180, 190), the previously isolated fluid lines are combined to introduce two or more distinct filler products into a single container without creating a homogenous mixture.
