  • Patent number: 6416247
Abstract: A mounting for poles of jumps in equestrian sport. A dish-shaped pole receiver suspended on a generally vertical rail can be connected together by bolts, then fixed to a stand. The bolts, which are flanged such that the shaft is not as wide as the head, extend in multi-segmented slots having serially connected narrow, wide and further narrow portions. The width of the narrow portion of the slot corresponds to approximately the width of the bolt shaft, while the wide portion of the slot is wide enough to accommodate the bolt head. The slot can secure the bolts by firstly introducing the bolt head into the wide portion of the slot, then engaging the shaft with the narrow part of the slot until the shaft comes in contact with the further narrow portion.

  • Publication number: 20010016145
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mounting for poles of jumps in equestrian sport, with a dish-shaped pole receiver (10) which is suspended on a generally vertical rail (1) which is fixed to a stand, wherein the receiver (10) and the rails (1) can be connected together by means of headed bolts (15) which extend in slots (3) from one of the two parts to the other of the two parts, and wherein the slots (3) have narrow slot parts (4) with a width (B) corresponding to approximately the width of the bolt shaft (8) of the headed bolt (15), and which is less than the diameter of the head (7) of the headed bolt (15), and have a widened part (5) in the slot through which a head (7) of a headed bolt (15) can be inserted in order, in this way, to be able to fit the headed bolts (15) in the slots (3) and be able to lock them by firstly introducing the head into the widened part (5) and pushing the shaft (8) into the narrow part (7) of the slot.

  • Patent number: 6234708
Abstract: A mounting for poles of jumps in equestrian sport, with a dish-shaped pole receiver which is suspended on a generally vertical rail adapted to be fixed to a stand. The pole receiver and the rail can be connected together by bolts which extend in one or more multi-segmented slots having one or more serially connected narrow, wide and further narrow portions. The bolts are flanged, or headed such that the shaft is not as wide as the head. The width of the narrow portion of the slot corresponds to approximately the width of the bolt shaft, while the wide portion of the slot is wide enough to accommodate the bolt head. The slot is able to secure the bolts by firstly introducing the bolt head into the wide portion of the slot, then engaging the shaft with the narrow part of the slot until the shaft comes in contact with the further narrow portion.

  • Patent number: 5998785
Abstract: A protective device operating in contact-free manner, such as in particular a light barrier grid (10), including a transmitter unit and/or a receiver unit (12) for generating and/or for receiving sensing signals, such as in particular light signals which serve for the contact-free monitoring of a protective area. At least the transmitter unit and/or the receiver unit (12) of the protective device is accommodated in a pressure-tight, preferably tubular housing (14), which is at least partly permeable for the sensing signals and which in particular includes cable lead-throughs (16) which ensure explosion protection.

  • Patent number: 5968072
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for femoral artery compression having an inflatable bladder, a cooling member and a rigid panel disposed within a sterile envelope and securable to a patient about the wound site via a detachable strap. The envelope can be pre-cooled as a unit and located over the wound such that the rigid panel focuses compressive force against the artery, trapping it between the panel and the pelvic bone rim. The bladder is adjustably inflatable by a conventional squeeze bulb valve arrangement and forces the cooling member against the rigid panel and the tissue in the wound vicinity. The rigid panel includes ridge structure to restrict sliding movement with respect to the cooling member. The envelope includes separate chambers for each of these components so as to restrict their movement once the envelope has been properly positioned. The envelope and its components are preferably constructed from inexpensive materials such that the entire apparatus is conveniently disposable after a single use.

  • Patent number: 5965645
Abstract: A plastisol composition containing plasticizers, fillers and styrene copolymers selected from (a) styrene, .alpha.-methyl styrene and p-methyl styrene, and (b) 3 to 20% by weight, based on the weight of the styrene copolymers, of a comonomer selected from methacrylic acid, acrylic acid and itaconic acid, and optionally (c) a crosslinking comonomer, wherein the maximum of the molecular weight distribution of said copolymers is greater than 1 million as determined by gel permeation chromatography.

  • Patent number: 5840786
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastisol composition based on bead polymers. The bead polymers preferably have a core/shell structure and an average diameter of 1 to 150 .mu.m. The bead polymers are preferably chlorine-free and are made up at least of a) styrene, .alpha.-methyl styrene and/or p-methyl styrene on the one hand and b) 2 to 20% by weight (based on the copolymer) of olefinically unsaturated carboxylic acids. The plastisol composition according to the invention may be used for the production of coating compositions, sealing compounds and adhesives.

  • Patent number: 5512617
Abstract: Described are materials based on a starch which has been thermomechanically digested at elevated temperatures and pressures and upon the addition of water and/or lower molecular weight plasticizers and which contains oxidatively cross-linkable alkyd resins having been incorporated in an intimate admixture. Preferably, these alkyd resins have been at least predominantly composed of key substances based on re-growable raw materials. The starch blends thus modified are suitable for the manufacture of shaped articles which in the presence of air will be reactively cured and thereupon are imparted with an increased strength, and especially an increased resistance to water.

  • Patent number: 4909025
Abstract: A blade assembly normally driven by a power takeoff shaft has a frame normally displaced in a travel direction and provided with a pair of blade carriers horizontally reciprocal transverse to the direction. The drive unit comprises a right-angle transmission having a horizontal input connected to the power takeoff shaft and a vertical output, a vertical shaft offset from the output and having a pair of angularly offset eccentrics, and a belt drive interconnecting the transmission output and the vertical shaft. A pair of relatively long actuating arms extending in the direction flank the transmission and shaft and have rear ends pivoted on the frame and front ends connected to the respective blade carriers. A pair of respective connector plates extending transversely of the direction have respective inner ends carried on the eccentrics and outer ends connected to the arms between the ends thereof.
