  • Publication number: 20180012439
Abstract: The present specification describes a system for automatically preparing medication cartridges for use in a pharmaceutical dispensing system. The system includes a spooler device that winds a strip of medicine pouches around a cylinder in a cartridge frame. When the cartridge has been loaded with the medication strip, the system validates that there is a match between the information on the cartridge cover and the mediation pouches.

  • Publication number: 20170364931
Abstract: A distributed model generation system includes a master node that estimates parameter sets for a topic classification (TC) model. The estimated parameter sets are loaded into a queue. Multiple training nodes download the estimated parameter sets from the queue for training associated TC models. The training nodes generate model performance values for the trained TC models and send the model performance values back to the master node. The master node uses the model performance values and the associated parameter sets to estimate additional TC model parameter sets. The master node estimates new parameter sets until a desired model performance value is obtained. The master node may use a Bayesian optimization to more efficiently estimate the parameter sets and may distribute the high processing demands of model training and testing operations to the training nodes.

  • Patent number: 9555665
Abstract: A bicycle wheel spinner which is quickly and easily released from a hub and has an inner ring formed segments, with blades protruding from each segment. The segments each mount a roller wheel riding in a groove in a supporting hub. The segments are releasably fixed together in the groove. The spinner can be quickly removed by disassembling the inner ring segments. A locking mechanism allows the spinner to be locked to the hub or released to rotate independently.

  • Publication number: 20160355322
Abstract: The present specification describes a medicine dispensing system for automatically dispensing medication at a predetermined time. The system includes a cartridge that carries a strip of medicine pouches. When the cartridge is dropped into a dispensing unit, it automatically aligns with the dispensing unit without requiring any installation work from the user. The automatic alignment is enabled beacuse of self-aligning features manufactured in the cartridge housing.

  • Publication number: 20160298167
Abstract: Conjugates of 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene and its derivatives with enzyme cleavable groups are chromogenic substrates that form coloured compounds when complexed with metal ions, e.g. iron ions, on cleavage by enzymes, and are useful in microbial detection and identification. The cleavage products form purple or red-brown coloured complexes, that can easily be observed by the naked eye. Microbes can be grown in the presence of the substrates and the metal salts that provide the metal ion for complexing with the 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene product. Substituents in the naphthalene ring may affect the solubility of the substrates and also the diffusibility and colour of the metal complexes. Some of the substrates yield soluble complexes on cleavage and are of particular value in liquid growth media. Other substrates produce less soluble complexes that are more suitable for use in solid agar media. Methods of synthesising the substrates are described.

  • Publication number: 20160281127
Abstract: Chromogenic substrates for ?-D-glucuronidase activity comprising monoglucuronides of some 1,2-dihydroxyaromatic derivatives. When cleaved these form soluble coloured conjugates with multivalent metal ions such as iron ions. The substrates may be used in conjunction with chromogenic substrates for other enzymes in microbial detection and identification especially involving liquid media. Microbes can be grown in the presence of the substrates and the compounds providing the metal ion. The substrates are particularly useful for detecting ?-D-glucuronidase-positive E. coli. Synthetic methods for making the compounds are described.

  • Publication number: 20160132906
Abstract: A content consumption monitor (CCM) identifies events from a domain, a number of the events, content associated with the events, and a relevancy of the content to a topic. The CCM may generate a consumption score for the domain and topic based on the number of events and the relevancy of the content to the topic. The CCM may identify domain surges for the topic when the consumption score reaches a threshold. The CCM may adjust the consumption score based on the changes in the relevancy, number of events and/or the number of users over different time periods. The consumption scores not only identify companies interested in different topics but also identifies consumption surges that indicate when the companies are most receptive to direct contacts regarding those topics.

  • Patent number: 9296097
Abstract: A rectangular one-piece unitary block of hard durable material has a central slot opening through one side and the bottom. The depth of the slot measured from the bottom of the block to the slot base in the interior is greater toward such one side. The slot becomes progressively more shallow in a direction toward the opposite side of the block to a location where the slot feathers into the bottom. The head of a high fastener projecting from an exposed edge of a T & G plank can be captured in the deeper portion of the slot, followed by shifting the block with its bottom engaged against the plank and the fastener head engaged by the base of the slot while rapping the top of the block with a hammer. The high fastener is thereby progressively driven to a set position.

  • Publication number: 20150242938
Abstract: Embodiments provide a computer-executed method, a computer system and computer program product for initiating a command. The method includes causing a consumer input definition interface to be displayed on a visual display of a computing device associated with a consumer, wherein the consumer input definition interface includes an indication of a command. The method also includes, while the consumer input definition interface is displayed, receiving input definition data defining a consumer interaction by the consumer. The method also includes generating a compound consumer input based on the input definition data, and associating the compound consumer input with the command and the consumer. The method further includes storing the association between the compound consumer input and the command on a non-transitory storage device so that receipt of the compound consumer input from the consumer automatically initiates the command.
