  • Publication number: 20170001480
Abstract: Display assemblies as disclosed herein are configured for attachment with a vulcanized rubber article and are provided in the form of different material layers. Display assemblies generally comprise one or more display layers of elastomeric material configured to provide a desired display indicia, an intermediate layer formed from an elastomeric material different from that of the one or more display layers, and an adhesive layer wherein the intermediate layer is interposed between the adhesive layer and the one or more display layers. The one more display layers may be configured to act together or separately to provide a desired display indicia to provide a desired visual display or feature on the surface of the vulcanized rubber article, which may be a sidewall surface of a tire.

  • Patent number: 9503785
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for performing anti-piracy countermeasures in order to prevent unauthorized access of protected content. A conditional access system may be modified to include a counter. The counter is incremented every time the conditional access system receives a request that is a potential indication of pirate activity. The counter may also be decremented every time the conditional access system receives a request indicative of legitimate activity. If the conditional access system receives a management message containing a key required to access content keys, the conditional access system cheeks the counter. If the counter is below a threshold value, the conditional access system obtains the key. However, if the counter is above the threshold value, the conditional access system disregards the key contained in the management message, thereby losing access to protected content.

  • Patent number: 9171062
Abstract: Provided are techniques for processing a query. A query including constraints for at least two vertically partitioned, inverted indexes is received. The constraints in the query are separated based on the vertically partitioned, inverted indexes. A document identifier iterator is obtained for each of the constraints, wherein each document identifier iterator is associated with a posting list, and wherein each posting list is ordered by document identifier order. A run-time join of the posting lists is performed to obtain a final result set.

  • Publication number: 20150227624
Abstract: A system for real-time search, including: a set of partitions, each including a set of segments, each segment corresponding to a time slice of messages posted to the messaging platform, and a real-time search engine configured to receive a search term in parallel with other partitions in the set of partitions, and search at least one of the set of segments in reverse chronological order of the corresponding time slice to identify document identifiers of messages containing the search term; and a search fanout module configured to: receive a search query including the search term; send the search term to each of the set of partitions for parallel searching; and return, in response to the search query, at least one of the identified document identifiers of messages containing the search term.

  • Publication number: 20150011994
Abstract: An electrosurgical pencil adapted to receive an electrode controllable by an electrical signal for performing surgical operations. This pencil includes a housing, a circuit, and switch that is activatable from outside the housing for closing the circuit. The housing receives the electrode. The circuit is a flexible circuit and is positioned such that it is in direct contact with the electrode when the electrode is received in the housing.

  • Patent number: 8868526
Abstract: Documents and search terms may be received for which an index that supports both incremental document indexing and incremental term indexing is to be generated. From this information, an index may be generated, partitioned in a first dimension by documents to create master segments and in a second dimension by search terms to create slave segments. A request to update the index to include a new document or a new search term may be received. The new document or new search term may be added to the index without modifying the entire index. Further, document identifiers may be synchronized across all segments. Synchronization refers to maintaining consistency of document identifiers across segments, despite renumbering of document identifiers during certain operations such as merging segments.

  • Patent number: 8834974
Abstract: The system (10) includes at least one elastomeric, vulcanizable ink (18) that defines a decorative decal image (20). The decal image (20) has perimeter edges (22) and a display area (24) extending between the perimeter edges (22). The vulcanizable ink is vulcanized upon a carrier sheet (12). A heat-activated adhesive layer (26) is applied to overlie the display area (24) of the decal image (20), and the heat-activated adhesive layer (26) is also partially activated upon the display area (24) of the decal image (20). The decorative decal image (20) having the partially activated adhesive layer (26) is then thermally transferable to a vulcanized rubber product (28) such as a side wall (30) of an automotive tire (32), after which the carrier sheet (12) is removed.

  • Patent number: 8793271
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for searching a plurality of documents using a dynamically defined ignore string. The ignore string may be specified by a user. An overlay index may be generated over the plurality of documents. The overlay index may include a posting list for each term in the ignore string. Each posting list may specify the documents of the plurality of documents in which the respective term occurs outside of the ignore string. The overlay index may also include a posting list that specifies all occurrences of the ignore string in the plurality of documents. Once generated, a user may search the plurality of documents while occurrences of the ignore string in the plurality of documents are ignored in text-based searches.

  • Patent number: 8612431
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for enhancing search results generated by a search engine. A graphical user interface may display search results, which may include at least one multi-part record comprising a plurality of independent documents. Upon receiving a selection of the multi-part record from the search results a detailed view of the record may be displayed. The detailed view of the record may include a listing of the multiple documents that form the record along with an indication of whether keywords from the search criteria are present in the documents. By providing an indication of exactly which documents of a multi-part record include keywords associated with a search, embodiments of the invention allow users to easily identify desired materials from a list of search results comprising the multipart record.

  • Patent number: 8476391
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing anionic water-in-water polymer dispersions containing at least one finely dispersed, water-soluble and/or water-swellable polymer A and a continuous aqueous phase. This phase has a partial quantity of at least one polymeric dispersing agent B in which monomers dispersed in this aqueous phase are subjected to a radical polymerization, and after the polymerization is completed, the reaction mixture is subsequently diluted with the remaining amount of dispersing agent B. The invention also relates to the polymer dispersions obtained according to the method and to their use, particularly in the paper industry.
