  • Publication number: 20110219008
Abstract: A method and indexing system indexes the content of a body of documents into a content index, and the metadata of the documents into a metadata index which is a parallel index to the content index. The metadata is copied into a data store that is easily accessible by the indexing system and is stored in native form. The indexing system can dynamically re-index the metadata from the native metadata in the data store to produce a new metadata index which is used to replace the original metadata index. Search queries received by a search engine associated with the indexing system are applied to both the content and metadata index and the results are merged for return.

  • Publication number: 20110078123
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for maintaining distributed state consistency in a distributed computing application. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for maintaining distributed state consistency in a distributed computing application can include registering a set of components of a distributed computing application, starting a transaction resulting in changes of state in different ones of the components in the registered set and determining in response to a conclusion of the transaction whether or not an inconsistency of state has arisen amongst the different components in the registered set in consequence of the changes of state in the different ones of the components in the registered set. If an inconsistency has arisen, each of the components in the registered set can be directed to rollback to a previously stored state. Otherwise a committal of state can be directed in each of the components in the registered set.

  • Publication number: 20110000524
Abstract: A solar module is described having a flatly implemented solar cell configuration, on whose rear side a rear side construction is provided and on whose front side a radiation-transparent front pane is provided, having a solidifying grouting compound, which encloses the solar cell configuration between rear side construction and front pane and transmits mechanical loads, and which connects the surface of the front pane facing toward the rear side construction over its entire area to the rear side construction and completely encloses the solar cell configuration. The rear side construction is implemented as a separate module, which is a plastic carrier produced using injection molding, injection-compression molding, or compression, or in the form of a stiff ceramic or organic planar element.

  • Publication number: 20100306238
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating an index that supports both incremental document indexing and incremental term indexing. Documents and search terms may be received for which an index is to be generated. From this information, an index may be generated, partitioned in a first dimension by documents to create master segments and in a second dimension by search terms to create slave segments. A request to update the index to include a new document or a new search term may be received. The new document or new search term may be added to the index without modifying the entire index. Further, document identifiers may be synchronized across all segments. Synchronization refers to maintaining consistency of document identifiers across segments, despite renumbering of document identifiers during certain operations such as merging segments.

  • Publication number: 20100250580
Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture are disclosed for searching a plurality of documents using a dynamically defined ignore string. The ignore string may be specified by a user. An overlay index may be generated over the plurality of documents. The overlay index may include a posting list for each term in the ignore string. Each posting list may specify the documents of the plurality of documents in which the respective term occurs outside of the ignore string. The overlay index may also include a posting list that specifies all occurrences of the ignore string in the plurality of documents. Once generated, a user may search the plurality of documents while occurrences of the ignore string in the plurality of documents are ignored in text-based searches.

  • Publication number: 20100211562
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for enhancing search results generated by a search engine. A graphical user interface may display search results, which may include at least one multi-part record comprising a plurality of independent documents. Upon receiving a selection of the multi-part record from the search results a detailed view of the record may be displayed. The detailed view of the record may include a listing of the multiple documents that form the record along with an indication of whether keywords from the search criteria are present in the documents. By providing an indication of exactly which documents of a multi-part record include keywords associated with a search, embodiments of the invention allow users to easily identify desired materials from a list of search results comprising the multipart record.

  • Patent number: 6814013
Abstract: In the process for treating incineration residues from waste incineration plants, the incineration material is incinerated on a furnace grate. The incineration residues produced are quenched in a wet slag remover and conveyed out of the latter. The wet incineration residues which come out of the wet slag remover are firstly divided into two fractions by means of a screening operation, after which the main fraction is washed with water taken from the wet slag remover, and in the process adhering fine pieces are separated off. The washed pieces of the incineration residues are fed for reuse. The washing water together with the ultra fine pieces which have been taken up during the washing operation pass into the wet slag remover. The fine fraction produced during the mechanical separation operation is fed back to the incineration operation.

  • Patent number: 6796251
Abstract: Incineration is controlled in such a way that a sintering and/or fusing of the slag takes place as early as in the incineration bed of the main incineration zone. • Publication number: 20020051737
Abstract: A sample ejection device for pipetting or dispensing very small quantities comprises a sample ejection head (10). The sample ejection head (10) is provided with a plurality of pipettes (12), a plurality of micropumps (46) for conveying very small quantities, and at least one storage container (24) connected with the pipettes (12). The sample ejection device further comprises a control unit (26) for controlling the sample ejection head (10) and a monitoring unit (28) for monitoring the sample ejection head (10). For facilitating exchange of storage containers (24) or pipettes (12) the sample ejection head (10) is exchangeable as a whole. It is thus not necessary to exchange individual storage containers (24) or individual pipettes (12) during a pipetting process. Exchange of the entire sample ejection head (10) can thus be effected considerably more quickly.

  • Patent number: 6067916
Abstract: In a process for gasifying and burning waste materials, the waste materials are introduced into an incinerator (1) and end up on a burning grate (6) to which combustion air is conducted through various undergrate forced draft chambers (8a to 8e). In the first area combustion air is introduced at a superstoichiometric level in order to ignite the waste materials. Then, via the undergrate forced draft chambers (8c to 8e), oxygen is mixed into the air which is used for the gasification, thereby establishing a substoichiometric level which results in gasification of the waste materials. The combustible gases which result from this process pass via a waste gas flue (12) into a second furnace (2), in which the gases are burned at a superstoichiometric level through the introduction of combustion air. The resulting waste gases pass to a heat exchanger (3).
